One Piece's Elbaf arc has introduced the fans to quite a lot of powerful individuals and among them is a very legendary band of warriors known as Galleila. This band of giants was first referenced in the Loki flashback of the arc, specifically when a conversation between King Harald and Jarul was revealed to the fans. While this band of warriors was briefly touched upon in the chapter, it is quite clear to see that they hold tremendous importance in the grand scheme of things.

The Galleila Giants will go on to play a massive role in One Piece's Final Saga later down the line, and their presence is extremely important when it comes to dismantling the World Government. Fans might be confused as to who the Galleila Giants are and what powers they wield, and that is precisely what is being explained here.
The Galleila Are A Band Of Hammer-Wielding Giants
Simply put, the Galleila Giants are a bunch of hammer-wielding warriors from the land of Elbaf. While the average giant is already incredibly powerful, especially when it comes to the Ancient Giants, the Galleila Giants are known to be even stronger, and they include the Ancient Giants as well. The fact that they are referred to as Warrior Giants is proof of the fact that they possess tremendous strength.

It is said that long ago, these hammer-wielding Giants were famous all over the world and their strength was such that even those in distant lands came to know and respect them, such as members of the Davy Clan.
It is said that they were elite destroyers, which, when taken into the context of Nika being considered a destroyer by some, suggests that they worked to serve him.
The Galleila Giants were also a group of powerful shipwrights. This also means that they were the ones who developed the large and complex ships of the Giants of the One Piece world. Most importantly this ties them directly to the Water 7, where the Galley-La Company currently runs as elite shipwrights of the Grand Line.
While some fans will not be able to put two and two together, this also means that it was the Galleila Giants of Elbaf who created the Warship Pluton. As fans know, Pluton was created during the Void Century in Water 7. Now, fans also know the Galley-La Company of Water 7 is based off of the Galleila Warrior Giants. In other words, the giant warship that can vaporize an entire island and destroy the world was created by these Giants, and that is precisely why they are very important.
What Happened To The Galleila In One Piece?
What exactly happened to the Galleila Giants remains unclear right now. But, according to Jarul, they set off on an expedition a long time ago and after many years, he received a letter from them which clearly stated that they had been captured. He still holds this letter to this day and their whereabouts remain unknown.

One Piece: Oda Drops A Major Hint About The Next Straw Hat In Volume 113 SBS
The next Straw Hat pirate has just been hinted at, and they might well be the final one to join the crew in One Piece.
However, they are most certainly not dead, because they are still being looked for in the One Piece world currently, despite being many centuries old. Rocks D. Xebec was in search of the Galleila Giants because he knew their importance.
Unfortunately, he never found them. However, it was revealed through Linlin that this band of giants is frozen somewhere. This takes fans back to Punk Hazard, where a frozen band of Giants was revealed by Oda long ago. Clearly, the Galleila Giants are in Punk Hazard.
How Will The Galleila Giants Return?
It has already been established in the story that the Galleila Giants need to return at some point and that they are crucial in the war against the World Government. According to Rocks, finding the Giants and commanding them was one of the most important parts of taking down Imu.
However, he also stated that the only one who can command these Giants was Harald, which means that this band of warriors will only listen to either Loki or to Nika.
Loki Could Find The Galleila Giants in One Piece
Before Rocks died, he passed on whatever information he held about the Galleila Giants to none other than Loki. This means that when Loki leaves Elbaf, possibly with the Straw Hat Pirates, his goal will be to find the Galleila Giants and then bring them into the fold so that the war against the World Government is eventually won. This is cleverly foreshadowed by Oda by having Loki wield the hammer Ragnir, which, apparently, is the strongest of them all.
At some point after Elbaf, Loki and the Straw Hat Pirates will have to come across the Galleila Giants in Punk Hazard. This will most definitely happen before the Final War begins, or immediately at its beginning. When the war begins, the Galleila Giants need to be ready, because they are most certainly directly tied to the Ancient Weapon Pluton, which could be readied only by them.
It is also possible that Pluton could be stolen by Blackbeard, who now has information on it, and to counterbalance this threat, the Galleila will craft a new Pluton with help from Franky, and that certainly makes it a very exciting plot point in One Piece.
The Galleila Giants Will Fight The Government
As stated by Gunko, whoever controls the Giants will have a massive advantage in the war that is coming. This is especially true if the Galleila Giants are found. They are a powerful band of Warrior Giants that wield hammers and it is down to their power that the entire New World was once conquered by the Giant race. They will most certainly return and join the final fight against the World Government and they could be led by none other than Luffy and Loki.
Given that they are known to be destroyers, they most likely follow the Sun God Nika who will destroy the current world order and bring about a new dawn.
It is only a matter of time before Oda gives the fans more context on the Galleila Giants and reveals more information about them. When that happens, fans will most definitely see them in full glory as they take action against the World Government and follow the Sun God Nika on his quest to destroy the world and end the dominance of the 20 Kings once and for all.
