This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
Loki is one of the most intriguing characters in One Piece, and most certainly all the talk in the community at the moment. Fans were introduced to Loki in the Whole Cake Island arc, but his full debut did not come until the Elbaf arc of One Piece truly began. Loki is known to be an absolute calamity, wielding strength that is monstrous by any comparison. A big part of Loki's strength comes from his rather strange birth and the incredible physical attributes that he was born with. However, a significant portion of it also comes from his legendary Devil Fruit.
It's Time To Admit One Piece's Last Villain Could Be A Member Of The Straw Hat Pirates
The final villain of One Piece might not be Blackbeard, but a Straw Hat member.
Loki's legendary Devil Fruit has been hyped up since the very beginning of the Elbaf arc. Now, in One Piece chapter 1170, Oda has given the fans their first glimpse of Loki's legendary power. It goes without saying that Loki's legendary Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan, but there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. One thing that's clear right now already is that this power is absolutely monstrous, and quite easily one of the strongest Devil Fruits that anyone has ever eaten.
Loki's Devil Fruit Has Been Passed Down The Generations In Elbaf
- Elbaf's Legendary Devil Fruit Was Guarded By Ragnir
- Loki Ate It 14 Years Ago
Loki's legendary Devil Fruit was first brought up in Elbaf shortly after the beginning of the arc. When Loki's debut in the manga came, Luffy immediately paid a visit to him, and the two seemed to hit it off, even though Loki was not too keen on having a friendly relationship with the Straw Hat captain. Yet, he still conversed with Luffy, knowing that he could give him an opportunity to finally escape his chains. Interestingly enough, Loki brought up the fact that his strength was being seeped by sea prism stones, which was the fans' first hint at the fact that he was a Devil Fruit user.
He ended up stealing the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. If he's let loose, he will destroy the whole world. — Elbaf Giants on Loki
Soon after, it was confirmed that he had indeed eaten the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. It was also revealed that Loki was a monster that could destroy not just Elbaf, but the entire world, due to the amount of strength he possessed. Even Luffy got a tingle in his spine upon sensing the strength of a Loki weakened by Sea Prism Stone. This should give fans enough of an idea of how strong Loki truly is.
Later down the line, lore regarding Elbaf's legendary Devil Fruit was revealed. At the banquet, it was made clear that Loki slew the greatest King that Elbaf ever had, Harald, and he went on to then eat the legendary Devil Fruit of the country. This Devil Fruit is said to hold a power great enough to help Loki destroy the entire world, which means it is a legendary fruit.
It is also revealed that this Devil Fruit was passed down through the generations in Elbaf and that no one has eaten it in centuries. Loki's Devil Fruit is also connected directly to Sun God Nika. Loki himself states that he is the Sun God passed down the legends in Elbaf, and he thinks that the Devil Fruit he has eaten grants him the powers of Nika. Clearly, fans know that this fruit is not that of the Sun God Nika. But, it goes without saying that Loki's fruit is still very powerful.
For months, fans were eagerly awaiting Loki's freedom because they wanted to see his Devil Fruit in action. In the latest Elbaf flashback, Oda has now given the fans their first look at Loki's Devil Fruit, and it goes without saying that it is an absolutely monstrous ability, the likes of which have never been seen in One Piece before.
Loki Finally Consumed His Legendary Devil Fruit In Chapter 1170
- Loki's Fruit Is A Zoan Type
- He Can Use Sharp Claws
In One Piece Chapter 1170, fans finally got to see the exciting battle between Loki and Harald. At the beginning of the battle, it was up to Shanks and Scopper Gaban to stop Harald until Loki managed to eat his Devil Fruit and acquired its power. Gaban and Shanks did enough to hold back Harald and even delivered some powerful and painful attacks on him. However, it was only Loki who was able to truly stop Harald.
15 Years After Haki, Oda Officially Introduces A New Power System In One Piece
One Piece has a new power system, and it will be essential in the Final Saga.
Loki Is The First In Centuries To Eat Elbaf's Legendary Devil Fruit
Loki needed to beat Ragnir in order to eat the legendary Devil Fruit. When the two fought, Ragnir gave Loki a very difficult battle and came to accept him for what he was. Then, Loki consumed the legendary Devil Fruit Of Elbaf, becoming the first person in centuries to wield this power. He transformed into a seemingly giant creature with devilish eyes. Then, the silhouette went on to attack Harald and dealt devastating damage to him. Fans could clearly see one of his hands transforming into a claw, and with this claw, he was able to slash through Harald's Covenant Mark, rendering him immobile for a few seconds. Shortly afterwards, Loki killed Harald. From the shadows, it is quite clear that it is a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that allows Loki to transform into a different creature.
Loki's Devil Fruit Seems To Be The Mythical Zoan Fenrir
The first clue that the fans have on Loki's Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit is that he develops sharp claws. These claws make him seem like some kind of dog or dragon-like entity. When Loki transformed into the giant creature, Oda made sure to keep all of his body hidden in a silhouette, but his spiky hair was clearly shown. Had Loki transformed into a dragon, perhaps this spiky hair would not have existed. This gives credence to the idea that Loki's Devil Fruit is that of a wolf, or in other words, the legendary Fenrir from Norse mythology.
I have done all of this to help Elbaf escape the cycle of violence and fighting. Of course, I have always intended to allow those who wish to enlist in the Navy to do so, but not like this! I only wish to serve you myself. Guards, tie me to the post and call Elder Jarul and Loki quickly. — King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168
This also makes sense when taking into consideration Loki's humanoid form. If Loki were the Nidhogg Dragon, then he would have had wings. The silhouette clearly did not show wings, but instead, a dog-like snout on his shadow. This, once again, gives more fuel to the idea that Loki has the Fenrir Devil Fruit. Loki's claws are also his main attacking weapon. The Nidhogg Dragon is surely capable of producing lightning, which fans know Loki can produce as well. But, at the same time, it must also be remembered that Loki mainly attacks with claws, and had he transformed into a dragon, perhaps something else would have been his main weapon.
At this point, fans have already seen their first glimpse of Loki's Devil Fruit powers. However, the name remains unknown. Still, it can be said with almost certainty that it is the Fenrir Devil Fruit.
