This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf arc.
One Piece is currently in the Elbaf Arc, where Oda is looking to make the Straw Hat Pirates stronger than ever before. Given that the threat of the World Government is almost upon them now, Luffy and his crew need to train tremendously hard to reach the next level of power.
One Piece: 1 Straw Hat Is Getting A Big Power Up Soon, And It Isn't Luffy
Oda is planning a huge power-up for a Straw Hat - and this time it isn't Luffy.
As far as Luffy is concerned, fans already know that he has the power of Haki and Devil Fruit under his belt. In fact, he has already mastered his Devil Fruit to the point where he awakened it and tapped into the power of the Sun God, Nika. Similarly, Luffy has also trained his Haki tremendously well. While there is still room for it to develop, Luffy has a decent grasp of Haki.
This makes one wonder what his new power-up is going to be, and Oda has already revealed the answer in the Realm of the Dead of Elbaf. The next step for Luffy is going to be to master the Voice of All Things.
Luffy's New Power Is The Voice of All Things
Luffy is already a master of some tremendous abilities in One Piece, and it is safe to say that he is a very powerful fighter. But, there are powers in One Piece that go beyond just Haki and Devil Fruits. The most important power that Luffy will gain now, as the story continues, is the Voice of All Things. Oda first introduced this power through Rayleigh long ago on Sabaody. He confirmed that Roger was a user of this power, and that is how he found the Poneglyphs.
Wait, how did I know it was Chopper who was falling down? — Luffy to Sanji
Eventually, it is implied that Roger went on to learn the essence of this power. But, for now, Luffy doesn't know how to use it. That said, Oda's recent actions have confirmed to the fans that Luffy will learn to tap into this power very soon.
Luffy Has Started To Awaken His Voice of All Things
Luffy has already started awakening his Voice of All Things. After the battle of the Wano arc, when Shanks stopped Green Bull from advancing, Luffy was clearly able to sense powerful Haki, just like everyone else. But, he was the only one who could envision Shanks in his mind, and this is because he could sense Shanks's presence from his Haki.
Roger couldn't read the Poneglyphs. He could only hear the Voice of All Things. That's all there is to it. — Rayleigh
6 Future Power Ups For Luffy In One Piece's Final Saga
Luffy is strong, but he will reach new heights in the final saga of One Piece with these power-ups.
More importantly, in Elbaf, when Luffy visited Loki in the Realm of the Dead, he could easily sense Chopper falling from a great height. While Sanji was only able to tell someone was falling, Luffy was able to recognize the voice as that of Chopper. This was shown by Oda specifically to highlight the fact that Luffy has started to awaken his Voice of All Things.
Luffy's New Power Will Help Him Find The One Piece
Now that it has been established that Luffy will awaken the Voice of All Things next, fans might wonder as to how this power will help him out in the future. In essence, the Voice of All Things allows Luffy to communicate with all things that exist in the world. The biggest mistake that fans make when it comes to the Voice of All Things is to think that it only applies to inanimate objects.
For example, the Voice of All Things can help someone understand the story that a Poneglyph is trying to tell. This is because the Poneglyphs have a voice of their own, and with the power of the Voice of All Things, it can be heard. But, this ability can also help someone hear the voices of living things. This includes animals, such as Zunesha, or even nature itself, including trees.
This means the Islands themselves, which have their own voices, can also be heard. The Voice of All Things is going to be crucial when it comes to Luffy finding the last Poneglyph, and most importantly, when he is trying to locate Laugh Tale. At the same time, this power is most likely also going to help him understand the true essence of Haki, which in itself is based on spirit and willpower.
