This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

The Straw Hat Pirates are central to the story of One Piece, with Luffy being the protagonist who drives the story forward. Fans have followed their adventures since East Blue, and in the two years that they've been a crew, they've grown tremendously in terms of power. However, each new ordeal is bigger than the previous one, and it’s time to admit that right now, despite being a Yonko crew, the Straw Hat Pirates are still far too weak, especially against the threats in Elbaf.

Make Way For Roronoa Zoro's Yonko Level Power Up In One Piece

Zoro has a huge power up coming up, and it will make him Yonko-level in One Piece.

Imu’s power far surpasses that of Rocks and Roger, and the Straw Hats are nowhere near strong enough to face this threat right now. The Monster Trio is certainly strong but has yet to reach their peak. The rest of the crew also desperately needs Haki, which should be a must for a Yonko-level crew.

Luffy Is No Match for Imu And His Crew Remains Weak

  • Zoro Has No Control Over His Conqueror’s Haki
  • Sanji Has Yet to Even Unlock Conqueror's Haki

Elbaf has proven to be exciting, and when it first started, few expected Imu to join the arc and become its main threat. While many believed Imu’s power might be nerfed by channeling it through someone else, Imu remains far too overpowered, regardless of whether that's the case or not. Even against Gear 5 Luffy, Imu wouldn't struggle to win. In One Piece chapter 1163, even Rocks, Roger, Whitebeard, Garp, Bug Mom, and Kaido could not dent Imu when they attacked them together, and that should tell the fans how bleak the situation is right now.

Luffy awakens his Devil Fruit and unlocks Gear 5 - One Piece

Luffy is still too weak, especially in terms of Haki. Zoro was recently reprimanded by Gaban for not even realizing he had Conqueror’s Haki, and Sanji has yet to unlock his, even though it’s likely he will. The Monster Trio remains too weak and has no counter to immortality yet, even though they have high bounties.

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe Are the Only Strong Haki Users

The Rest of the Straw Hat Pirates Are Below Yonko Crew Expectations

The Monster Trio and Jinbe are the only crew members known to use Armament Haki and Observation Haki. Having only four Haki users in a Yonko crew is underwhelming, especially compared to other crews like the Red Hair Pirates, Beast Pirates, or Big Mom Pirates.

If the Straw Hats want to truly earn the title of a Yonko crew, all members should at least learn one type of Haki. In the Final Saga, threats are growing bigger, and the rest of the crew can simply not ignore mastering Haki forever. Elbaf may be the time for Oda to change this.

Robin reveals her Gigante Fleur technique - One Piece

Regardless of what happens, one thing that can be said for sure is that Luffy, even with Gear 5, cannot beat Imu, and the Straw Hats are nowhere near ready to fight and beat the Holy Knights. The crew needs to get stronger and do it quickly because otherwise, the journey won't end well for them.

One Piece's next chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on November 2. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
