This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
One Piece fans got quite a scare last week when their favorite manga went on a sudden break without any prior warning. The sudden break, due to Oda's health, pushed back One Piece chapter 1162 and caused a lot of panic in the community. That said, the One Piece manga is officially returning this upcoming week, on October 12, 2025, and while that’s one good thing, it comes with its own bad news. The One Piece manga is going on another break right after, which is sad for fans. One Piece fans are going to have to wait for some time until the next chapter, One Piece chapter 1163, drops. The breaks have been occurring more frequently in recent months, especially at quite an intense point in the Elbaf arc.

The One Piece Manga Goes On Break Again
- The Break Begins on October 12
- One Piece Chapter 1162 Will Be Followed By A Two-Week Break
The One Piece manga has been on a break for over a week now, but the series will be returning this Sunday, October 12, 2025, with its newest chapter which was previously delayed, One Piece chapter 1162. Fans are definitely excited to see Oda recover and return, but while the manga's return is good, it brings sad news along with it. While October 12 marks the release of the newest One Piece chapter, it also marks the beginning of another break week. In other words, it has already been confirmed that One Piece chapter 1163 will be delayed. This is definitely sad for many fans who have to wait yet for new manga content, but given Oda's health issues, this is great, if anything. Fans recently got a big scare about Oda's health, and it is quite clear that he needs more breaks than ever. Oda should prioritize his health, and this is good, if anything.
Say Hello To The New Legendary Arc Of The One Piece Anime
The Egghead arc is reaching an end, and fans need to welcome a new amazing arc in One Piece.
Unlike the last sudden break, this break is a scheduled one. This means the manga will return two weeks after October 12, dropping on October 26, 2025, making it the last chapter of October. October will only have two chapters in total, which is fewer than usual.
Why Is One Piece Going On Break?
Oda’s Usual Break Pattern Isn’t Affected by Other Events
While One Piece taking another break immediately after Oda recently recovered from health related issues might sound like a big concern to many One Piece fans, it is anything but that. The upcoming break that will delay One Piece chapter 1163 is different. Oda has already been confirmed by the official One Piece account to be doing better and recovering, which means the upcoming break is just Oda following his usual schedule.
Oda usually takes a break after every three chapters, and sometimes, even after every two chapters, which appears to be the case here. Things such as health emergencies or Shonen Jump breaks don't count in this schedule.
One Piece Chapter 1163 will be out after two weeks. As usual, One Piece will drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece releases at 12 AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on October 26. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1163 is October 26, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
