Summary

  • Stussy, a clone of a legendary pirate, has intriguing connections.
  • Doll, a strong vice admiral with Armament Haki, is set up as a minor antagonist.
  • Emet, a giant robot, holds fascinating secrets from the past.

When the Straw Hats finally left Wano country to continue their journey towards the One Piece treasure, their next stop would be the highly advanced and rather bizarre Egghead Island. As the home of the world-famous scientists known as Vegapunk, it was obvious fans would finally get to see this mysterious figure in the flesh, but he's not the only important character who shows up in this particular story arc.

The truth is, there are several characters introduced in Egghead who are all highly relevant to the overall plot, with some even dropping massive lore dumps and reveals after they meet Luffy and the Straw Hats. In terms of overall relevance and importance to the story, though, here is how these One Piece characters from the EggheadIisland arc stack up against one another.

8 Stussy

A Clone Of A Legendary Pirate Who Once Served Under The Infamous Rocks Xebec

One Piece Stussy
  • First Appearance: Episode 752

Technically, Stussy first shows up in the series during the Whole Cake Island arc, though considering she only has a very brief amount of screen time and is also unwilling to reveal who she even is, all fans knew about her was that she was a new member of CP-0. It's on Egghead Island where Stussy is given a formal introduction, with it being revealed that the bloodthirsty agent is actually a clone of Bakkin, Whitebeard's former lover who once served in the Rocks pirate crew.

Her vague connection to Rocks and the God Valley incident will no doubt make Stussy a very relevant character going forward, especially with how easy it would be for the World Government to mistake her for the real Bakkin. As one of Vegapunk's creations, she also remains to be one of the final remnants left behind by the scientist after he met his demise at the hands of Kizaru.

7 Doll

The No-Nonsence Vice Admiral Is Going To Be A Key Player For The Marines

Dolla in One Piece
  • First Appearance: Episode 1090

Considering many of the strongest marines are a little on the older side by this point in the story, it only makes sense that Oda would begin introducing some youngsters who could help out with apprehending the pirates. A major example of this who makes her debut in Egghead is Doll, a no-nonsense vice admiral.

One thing that immediately stands out about Doll, outside of her leather black punk aesthetic, is how skilled she is as a combatant. Doll possesses a firm mastery of Armament Haki, to the point where she can even deal damage without touching her opponents, just like Luffy can. Considering her strength, Doll is clearly being set up as a minor antagonist that the Straw Hats will eventually be forced to deal with, making her an important character that fans should keep an eye on.

6 Emet

Joy Boy's Giant Friend Has Left Behind A Fascinating Legacy

joy Boy And Emet one piece 1139
  • First Appearance: Episode 1095

There aren't many people left in the series who can say that they were able to meet the legendary pirate known as Joy Boy, which is why Emet is such a fascinating character. While he's powered down and little more than a mountain of junk by the time Luffy meets him, Vegapunk explains that Emet has been around since the Void Century and was very close with Joy Boy, who has long been one of the most mysterious pirates in the series.

However, the gigantic robot did eventually awaken after hearing the Drums of Liberation, proving that it's clearly not down for the count quite yet. Considering how determined everyone is to learn what really happened during the Void Century, Emet serves to be a fascinating relic of the past who clearly has a lot of interesting tales he could tell, not only about his own life, but also Joy Boy's.

5 The Seraphims

The Dangerous Warlord Replacements Finally Show Themselves

One Piece: Oda Confirms A Major Power For The Seraphims
  • First Appearance: Episode 1087

It was back during the Reverie arc that it was announced the Warlords were going to be disbanded, with Fujitora mentioning that a replacement was already underway. Considering Wano came directly after this, there was no time to reveal what exactly would be filling the gap now that these pirate mercenaries were out of a job, but fans were finally granted an up-close look at these war machines in Egghead.

Known as the Seraphims, these robots are all designed after the former Warlords, possessing many of the same abilities, but with drastically increased strength and durability. Luffy and the others get a taste of just how powerful these mechanical Warlords really were after they tried to take the pirates down while they resided on Egghead Island, and considering they are essentially the new war dogs working under the Marines, they are highly important to the wider world and plot of the story.

4 Shaka

Shaka Spills The Beans On Several Key Topics Within The Wider World

One Piece Episode 1099 Where To Watch
  • First Appearance: Episode 1095

It's not long after they enter Egghead Island that the Straw Hats run into Shaka, a version of Vegapunk who is more than happy to speak with Luffy and the crew about some of the most important topics in the world of One Piece. For example, it was Shaka who reveals that the books of Ohara were recovered by the giants after the island was decimated by a Marine Buster Call, which was a massive revelation at the time.

Not only that, but he also dropped the bombshell that Saul, Robin's dearest friend who she believed had died back on Ohara, was actually still alive. Though he unfortunately didn't manage to make it out of the Egghead Island arc due to being assassinated, Shaka is still undoubtedly one of the most important characters to be introduced in the arc due to how much he was willing to share.

3 Lilith

The Perky Satellite Has Become A Temporary Member Of The Straw Hats

Lilith Wakes Up One Piece 1124
  • First Appearance: Episode 1090

Lilith is the first Satellite that the Straw Hats bump into once they reach Egghead, but she doesn't exactly come across as all that friendly of a guide. The reason for this is because Lilith is the embodiment of Vegapunk's 'evil' side, essentially meaning that she embodies all of his negative traits. That being said, she still possesses a steady moral compass, which sees her acting as an ally for the Straw Hats after the invasion of Egghead officially kicks off.

The major reason Lilith is so important, however, is that she is the only part of Vegapunk that managed to escape in one piece, making her a temporary crew member for the Straw Hats. As someone with an intriguing backstory and a ton of information floating around her brain, Lilith is a key asset who could end up shaking the world to its core if she were ever able to reveal Vegapunk's secrets.

2 Figarland Garling

The Champion Of God Valley Who Earned The Position Of A World Noble

Garling decides to execute Mjosgard - One Piece
  • First Appearance: Episode 1120

It's always exciting being able to learn more about the captain of the Red Hair Pirates, Shanks, but nobody could have expected that fans would be introduced to his father during the Egghead arc. Referred to as the Champion of God Valley, Figureland Garling assumes the position of an Elder after Saturn is brutally murdered by the other Nobles, putting him in an incredibly prestigious position as one of the heads of the World Government.

As a former member of the God's Knights, alongside being the father of both Shanks and Shamrock, Garling is going to be a key player in the final saga of the One Piece story. While he is still a character shrouded in mystery, Oda still managed to reveal just enough about this dangerous warrior to get fans excited about his future appearances.

1 Vegapunk / Stella

Vegapunk, The Infamous Scientist, Changed Everything With His Final Speech

vegapunk egghead one piece
  • First Appearance: Episode 1090

It's long been well established that Vegapunk is an incredibly important character within the world of One Piece. Anytime the Straw Hats would encounter a new invention or machine, it is almost always connected back to the world-renowned scientist, though the man himself wouldn't make his appearance until Egghead, and it's fair to say that he makes a pretty big impact after he is formally introduced.

Vegapunk is the entire reason why the Marines travel to Egghead in the first place, but before he is eventually killed, he decides to let out one final speech that rocks the world to its core. With Vegapunk warning that the entire world will soon be underwater, alongside spilling many other secrets that had long been forbidden from being spoken of, he completely changed the direction of the story and essentially established the playing field for the final saga. Needless to say, he's an immensely important individual whose wicked intelligence, unfortunately, eventually ends up getting him killed.
