Summary

  • Nami's Clima-Tact gives her power over weather, allowing her to create storms and thunder attacks easily.
  • Tornado Tempo is her old finishing move, but Thunder Lance Tempo is her accurate single-target finisher.
  • With Zeus as an ally, Nami can control thunder attacks like Ninpo: Raitei and launch Thunder Shark Tempo.

As the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nami's main job is getting the crew to their next destination, but what makes her stand out in this role is her great sense and intuition about the weather. It's been a part of her character since her introduction, but it only manifested itself when she first got the Clima-Tact, allowing her to put her meteorological knowledge to use in combat.

Despite her proficiency with a bo staff, Nami's preferred method of fighting is using her Clima-Tact to create weather effects, usually thunder and lightning. This became much easier after studying on Weatheria for two years, and now she can create a storm with the snap of her fingers. With the soul of Zeus fused into her Clima-Tact, Nami's attacks have become stronger than ever.

10 Tornado Tempo

A Dangerous Party Trick

Tornado Tempo One Piece

The original Tornado Tempo was Nami's first trump card, a one-use ultimate attack that would defeat any human enemy, at least according to Usopp. This attack required the Clima-Tact to be put into a T shape, and when the enemy was close, it would shoot two toy birds at them, wrapping wire around their limbs. The Clima-Tact would then start violently spinning and launch the caught person with great force.

This was Nami's strongest attack with the original Clima-Tact, but it's now incredibly outdated. Aside from its name, it has nothing to do with weather, and against the monsters of the New World, it probably wouldn't do much. However, it serves as an homage to the days of One Piece without Haki and OP Devil Fruit powers.

9 Gust Sword

Blade Of Pressurized Air

Gust Sword One Piece

After studying on the floating island of Weatheria, Nami reunited with the other Straw Hat Pirates with a big upgrade to her Clima-Tact. It made use of Weatheria's advanced technology and allowed Nami to create natural phenomena whenever she wanted. The Gust Sword is one of the more basic examples of the Clima-Tact's new functions.

This attack requires Nami to point one of her batons at the opponent, causing a bubble to grow out of the end. When the bubble pops, a gust of high-pressure air shoots at the enemy and sends them flying. This wind is strong enough to lift a fully grown fish-man and knock him out at the same time.

8 Tornado Tempo (Ver. 2)

Creating A Real Tornado

Tornado Tempo 2 One Piece

Although the old Tornado Tempo was a finishing move, the new version isn't, and it actually involves creating a mini-tornado. Nami spins her baton, creating multiple bubbles filled with pressurized air. She then points it in a direction as the bubbles pop, which produces a large funnel of wind that blows everything away.

This mini-tornado is strong enough to blow away a group of Kaido's Gifters and lower crew members. Although it has a wind-up time, this attack manifests quickly and can be used as a surprise attack, especially since Nami is often underestimated by her opponents.

7 Thunderbolt Tempo

The Standard Shock Attack

Thunderbolt Tempo One Piece

Thunderbolt Tempo is one of Nami's original combo attacks that was created when she first used the Clima-Tact. After many upgrades and years of research, the attack she's able to produce is much quicker and much more powerful. These thunderbolts are capable of knocking experienced Devil Fruit users unconscious.

Originally, Nami was only able to do this attack after creating storm clouds with her Clima-Tact, but after studying weather science on Weatheria, she can produce an even stronger effect in a matter of seconds using a Weather Egg. Using her staff, she directs the volatile energy at her opponents, striking them with a bolt of electricity.

6 Thunder Breed Tempo

A Versatile Bolt Of Thunder

Thunder Breed Tempo One Piece

After the timeskip, Nami returned with the handy ability to create any kind of weather in an instant using Weather Eggs, which has given her much more freedom to use her abilities. Nami can create a large mass of thunderclouds and control the thunderbolts within it, using her staff as a controller.

Thunder Breed Tempo seems to be best used in open spaces where the clouds can cover more area and Nami can safely control the thunderbolts from a distance. She used this attack against Buffalo and Baby 5 on Punk Hazard, and she was able to hit them even as they were flying away.

5 Raiun Rod

Crack Like A Whip

Raiun Rod One Piece

One attack Nami showed off while the crew was on Fish-Man Island was Raiun Rod, which made use of many mini-thunderclouds in bubbles that were connected. Nami was able to use them like a whip to spread them into a crowd before popping the bubbles and electrocuting everyone in the vicinity.

Nami rarely gets into one-on-one fights and generally sticks to clearing the way for her crew. Raiun Rod does that very well, but she can only really use it when none of her friends are in the way. Many of her attacks have large areas of effect, which could possibly hurt the other Straw Hats.

4 Thunder Lance Tempo

Single Target Finisher

Thunder Lance Tempo One Piece

Nami's Thunder Lance is one of her most powerful single-target attacks, and her accuracy with it is nearly 100%. First seen in her fight against Kalifa of CP9, this attack involves drawing electricity from a small storm cloud to the tip of the Clima-Tact, spearing the enemy in its path. Nami was able to win against Kalifa using Thunder Lance Tempo despite being much weaker and less experienced.

After the timeskip, this attack takes much less time to set up now that Nami no longer needs to manually create clouds. In her fight against Ulti, one of Kaidou's lieutenants, Nami was able to place a cloud the instant she was attacked, allowing her to surprise the Beast pirate. This attack was able to stun Ulti in her Ancient Zoan form with just one hit.

3 Ninpo: Raitei

Nami's Electric Homing Missile

Ninpo Raitei One Piece

After Zeus, one of Big Mom's "homies," allied himself with Nami, she was able to produce some amazing new attacks. While in Wano, she developed Ninpo: Raitei, which involved feeding Zeus a Weather Egg holding a storm cloud and controlling it with her Clima-Tact. Moving the egg would also move Zeus, and hitting anything would cause a huge burst of electricity.

When Zeus's soul fused with the Clima-Tact, this attack became more deadly. Zeus could now control the thunderbolt himself, allowing him to chase opponents until they were struck. With this new partnership, Nami essentially had a sure-hit attack that could take down strong Devil-Fruit Users.

2 Thunder Shark Tempo

A Bite Of Electricity

Thunder Shark Tempo One Piece

In Elbaf, Nami's most recent attack uses Zeus as a projectile. He takes the form of a thundercloud in the shape of a shark, which Nami launches. Due to Zeus being sentient, it can be assumed that he can control the direction this attack goes until it reaches its target. Unfortunately, when used on Gunko, the power of the Arrow-Arrow Fruit redirected it.

On hit, the target is struck by a huge electric discharge. Theoretically, this attack should be comparable to Ninpo- Raitei, but it's unclear. When Brook was hit by Thunder Shark Tempor, he was relatively okay a few moments later. However, that could just have been a comedic effect for the situation.

1 Zeus Breeze Tempo

An Earth-Shaking Blast

Zeus Breeze Tempo One Piece

Nami's strongest attack by far occurred on Whole Cake Island while fleeing from Big Mom. Zeus the cloud had eaten many thunderclouds from the Clima-Tact, and after consuming a Weather Egg, he grew into a storm cloud several times larger, floating higher into the sky. With her control over the Weather Egg, Nami directed the storm's energy at the Emperor.

In the moments before the strike, the storm caused heavy winds that were able to bend trees and create waves in the ocean. The blast of thunder was so big that it shook the whole island and created a crater big enough to bury Big Mom. While it didn't stop her hunger-induced rampage, it did help slow her down.
