This article contains spoilers from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece.
One Piece is the world’s best-selling manga ever, and no other series is ever coming close to it in that regard. One Piece has built itself as the pillar of Shonen Jump over the last 28 years, and Oda has been at work constantly on this monumental manga series. Naturally, given the time that Oda has given to One Piece, it's no surprise to know that his health isn't the best at the moment.

The amount of pressure that comes with being a Jump author takes a toll. As such, Oda needs more breaks than ever, and now, the first break of November has been confirmed. One Piece chapter 1166, which was supposed to drop on November 16, 2025, has now officially been delayed. The chapter has now been pushed back from November 16 to November 23.
One Piece Chapter 1166 Has Been Delayed From November 16 To November 23
October was quite a rough month for One Piece and Eiichiro Oda. The manga went on a sudden break with no warning due to the author's health, on top of Oda’s other scheduled breaks. All in all, fans barely got any new content, but thankfully, Oda made a quick recovery after the break. Naturally, after a rough month, fans are hoping November will be better in that regard, and now, Oda's first scheduled break is upon us.

Luffy's next power-up has been revealed, and it will take his haki to the next level in One Piece.
One Piece’s next break is coming, and it's happening very soon. One Piece chapter 1166 will face a delay, but that's to be expected, given that Oda did deliver 3 chapters in a row, so fans should be grateful. Instead of dropping on November 16 as previously scheduled, One Piece Chapter 1166 will be pushed back by one week and be released on November 23, 2025. A one-week break every 3 chapters has been the norm for One Piece for a few years now. There probably won’t be more breaks in November after this one, but if there are, they'll surely be reported here. At the current pace, the next One Piece break will fall at the beginning of December.
Oda’s Health Issues Are The Main Reason For One Piece's Breaks
Since 2022, One Piece’s breaks have drastically increased. Before the Wano arc, even one break a month was an unusual occurrence. Since late Wano, fans saw one break every 3 chapters or so, and now, this has become the norm. Naturally, fans are wondering what the reason for the breaks is. While some of them are caused by external factors, like holidays in Japan, the main reason for the breaks is Oda's health. Oda, just like most mangaka, is under immense pressure and extremely overworked.
Working on One Piece for almost 3 decades is not easy and it takes a physical toll on the creator. Oda has to meet deadlines every week and push out more content, so a break is very helpful to him in that regard, and it's something that fans should be very understanding of. Eiichiro Oda isn’t getting any younger, so his job is only getting harder every year. Fans can only wish Oda good health so he can continue on with his manga, and understand that breaks are very necessary for her own well-being.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on break next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
