One Piece is currently in the Elbaf arc’s Loki flashback, and it goes without saying that this part of the story has been absolutely sensational so far. When the Loki flashback truly began, not many fans expected Oda to showcase the God Valley Incident in full, but much to the surprise of all the fans of the story, he's done just that and blown everyone away. One Piece chapter 1161 officially gave the fans some of the most exciting battles in the God Valley Incident, but more than that, it also went on to establish a certain hierarchy among the monsters of the One Piece world.

As fans know already, some very strong characters took part in the God Valley Incident, and out of them all, a handful stood above all else. One Piece chapter 1161 threw a lot of focus on Garp, and in doing so, confirmed to the fans that he is officially far stronger than the likes of Big Mom and Kaido. While it was never truly a serious debate, Oda has now cleared all lingering doubts from the minds of the fans and it is clear that Garp truly is a monster.

One Piece chapter 1161 gave the fans a very incredible showing from Garp. In the previous chapter, fans got to see Garp arrive in God Valley, specifically to fight against Roger. Now, Garp went on to confront the strongest of the Rocks Pirates, and he certainly did carve out quite a demonic reputation himself. Garp was up against Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard at the same time in One Piece chapter 1161, and it is safe to say that he did incredibly well.

Big Mom launched an incredibly powerful attack at Garp with her homies, and it didn't even manage to scratch him. In fact, Garp himself commented on the fact that the attack was pretty much pathetic, and that it would take much more than just that to beat him. Even though Garp was alone and was up against Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido, the three chose not to engage him and prioritize their other missions.

Now, this doesn't mean Garp was stronger than all three, but it certainly goes to show that he was stronger than Big Mom, and the rookie Kaido at the very least. Big Mom and Kaido are considered to be on a similar tier by many, and even in their primes, they weren't strong enough to match Garp.

Garp, Roger, And Rocks Were On A Different Level 38 Years Ago

The Legends Of The Old Era Were Monsters

With One Piece chapter 1161, Oda has officially confirmed to the fans that Garp is indeed on the same level as Roger. Oda himself went on to state in the Elbaf flashback that Garp, Roger, and Rocks went on to be remembered as legends of the age, and if the fans had any doubts about the Hero of the Marines, this chapter clears it now. Roger and Garp were truly on a whole different level compared to the others in the One Piece world, and only Rocks and Whitebeard can be officially considered to be on that tier. Kaido and Big Mom, while strong, aren't on this level, and given that the former lost to Gear 5 Luffy, it is clear that he was inferior to these legends.
