This certainly does put into question how Blackbeard was raised, however. So far, fans only know that Blackbeard was from a Winter Island, known as Shade Port in the Grand Line, and for some reason, he doesn't sleep. Maybe that holds true for Rocks as well. Whether he was abandoned by Rocks, or if he was taken away somehow remains to be seen.

Xebec might be dead, but Blackbeard is alive and well, and he carries Rocks's legacy. He is going to create a storm in the current era, both for the World Government and for the rival pirates. Just like Rocks, he will aim for a complete takeover of the world, and that's where the real fun begins.
