One Piece: Oda Drops A Major Hint About Imu's Mythical Zoan Fruit

With the Final Saga of One Piece now upon the fans, it goes without saying that Oda will now pay more attention to Saint Imu of the Nerona family. Oda has already revealed bits and pieces about Imu across Egghead and Elbaf is the story, but there is a lot more left to uncover still, such as Imu's Devil Fruit abilities, which fans have seen glimpses of in the Elbaf arc of the story.

Oda seems to have clearly shown that Imu wields some sort of demonic ability, but it is still quite obscure, in regards to what it actually is. That said, Imu's Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit power is quite clear already, and the chances of him having the power of the Leviathan fruit are incredibly high. All of this has been carefully hinted at by Oda in the Final Saga of One Piece, both in the Egghead and Elbaf arcs.

First of all, fans need to turn their eyes to the biggest of all hints about Imu's power. Imu and the Celestial Dragons have for their symbol the hoof of a dragon. It is highly likely that whatever power Imu has is actually connected to some kind of dragon of the world.

Now, coming over to Imu's powers, the first thing that fans need to keep in mind is that Imu is most definitely a Mythical Zoan user. This is because they clearly transformed when hit by Sabo’s attack and consumed the flames fully. This is a true signifier of a Mythical Zoan ability. Furthermore, Imu also sprouted wings in Elbaf, and that's also a clear indication of the fact that the power is a Mythical Zoan.

Now that it has been settled that Imu has a Mythical Zoan power, the nature of the power itself must be discussed. The first thing fans know is that Imu can consume things. When Sabo shot his Rook Check at Imu, he completely consumed the flames. Secondly, fans also know that whatever creature Imu is has wings, and can also qualify as a dragon. Thirdly, fans know very well that Imu can take souls from people, as seen when they sucked all of Saturn's lifespan from him and killed him, or when they took a portion of Dorry and Brogy’s lifespan. Based on all these hints, it is clear what Imu's Mythical Zoan power is.

But, one key thing ties all of this together, and that is the Abyss. The Abyss is the name of the pentagram that Imu and those who are blessed with Imu's powers can use. It is a gateway that allows these individuals to travel. In certain theology, it is said that the Abyss is the mouth of hell, or the mouth of the Leviathan. In other words, Imu has the power of the Leviathan.

Imu having the power of the Leviathan is absolutely perfect. The Leviathan is a dragon with wings, yet a serpentine body. It can consume anything and everything, just as Imu does, and at the same time, the Leviathan also consumes souls, which is what Imu does as well. Everything about Imu is similar to the Leviathan, and hopefully, Oda will eventually go on to confirm their Devil Fruit ability soon enough.
