But, that doesn't mean there is nobody stronger in the One Piece world than him. Luffy is a monster, but against more seasoned fighters, and especially Gods such as Imu, he pales in comparison, at least for now. Taking into consideration the fact that Imu has come to Elbaf, it is clear that he's going to be in trouble here, and potentially even lose, which could open the door to some of the most exciting One Piece arcs.

Luffy Will Be Beaten At Some Point In The Final Saga

  • Luffy's Vivre Card Is An Important Plot Device
  • A Luffy Rescue Arc Is Possible

One Piece fans know very well how strong Luffy is, but they also acknowledge the fact that Oda has made it so that he can still be beaten. Luffy is overpowered, but against someone like Imu, defeat is still a possibility, and this is even more so the case when considering the fact that Oda has actually set up a very important plot point that suggests that Luffy will get captured in the Final Saga.

I had his Vivre Card made. I'll keep a piece of it, just in case. — Sabo

In that Dressrosa arc, Sabo made a Vivre Card for Luffy and he took a piece from it. All the Straw Hat Grand Fleet took a piece of the Vivre Card as well, and Bellamy kept one too. The Straw Hat Pirates also have Luffy's Vivre Card. To some fans, this might not be important, but Vivre cards hold great significance. Oda uses Vivre Card to show the lifespan of someone and point to their location. This means they can only be used to locate someone, and when someone's life is in trouble. In other words, Oda making Luffy's Vivre Card means quite clearly that his life will be in danger and he will be away from the Straw Hats, setting up a rescue mission for the likes of Straw Hat Pirates, Grand Fleet, and even Bellamy and Sabo.

Imu Is In Elbaf, Which Means Luffy Could Lose

Imu's Strength Is Roo Overwhelming

Fans were always wondering how exactly Luffy could even lose. After all, he's the main character, and right now, he's a Yonko. He has Gear 5, and he has access to advanced forms of all Haki, which means that Luffy cannot be beaten easily. But, now, Imu is in the picture. Fans know very well that Imu cannot be beaten right now. After all, they're the final villain of One Piece. If Imu is in Elbaf, it only means that Oda is going to use this opportunity to have Imu show off their powers. Oda is using this opportunity to raise the stakes of the Final Saga, and that just makes things much more impressive.

This also means that Imu could very well take down Luffy in battle. Furthermore, it must also be kept in mind that Imu wants Joy Boy dead, no matter what. When Saturn failed in Egghead, Imu's main gripe with him was letting Joy Boy escape. Now, Joy Boy is in front of Imu, which means that he cannot turn a blind eye to him, and beat him.

Will Luffy Be Captured In One Piece?

If the Holy Knights take Joy Boy, it would lead to a chaotic rescue arc that all fans would absolutely love in the future. Of course, it is still hard to say whether Luffy will lose here or not, but at some point in the Final Saga, he absolutely has to. Furthermore, with Imu here, there is no better opportunity for Oda to make use of this plot point.
