This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece has introduced the fans to some incredible powers over the years. From incredibly powerful Haki all the way to Devil Fruit Awakenings, Oda has done an incredible job to expand his already phenomenal power system. However, all this is not enough because the Final Saga requires him to take things a step beyond.
Who Are The Galleila In One Piece? Elbaf's Strongest Giants Explained
Elbaf's Galleila Giants are about to be major in One Piece. Here's everything we know about them so far.
In the final saga of One Piece, Oda is set to introduce an even greater power that connects to ancient beings from the moon of the One Piece world. This power is going to be fully mastered by none other than the protagonist of the series, Monkey D. Luffy. The ancient power from the moon could very well be the Voice of All Things, given that it is a power passed among the descendants of the D, and only a select few people can utilize it.
Luffy Has The Ancient Power Of The Moon People In One Piece
To understand the true power that Luffy is going to gain in the final saga, one first needs to understand the origin of the D people in the One Piece world. The Harley that was introduced in the Elbaf arc has the key to the truth behind the people of the D.
First World
Flames engulfed the land, and humans succumbed to their desires, touching the forbidden Sun. The enslaved prayed, and the Sun God appeared. The Earth God was enraged, and together with the serpent of infernal flames, shrouded the world in death and darkness. They would never meet again.
Second World
Breath stirred within the void, and the Forest God sent forth demons. The Sun did nothing but spread the fires of war. The people of the half-moon dreamed, the people of the full-moon dreamed. Humans slew the Sun and became Gods, and the Sea God raged. They would never meet again.
Third World
In chaos, there is void. The troubled shadow remembers the promised day and hears the voice of the fractured moon. The Sun God dances and laughs, leading the world to its end. The sun will return once more, and a new dawn will arrive. Surely, this time, they will meet again.
To put it simply, the Harley states that the D People essentially stemmed from the moon. The people of the full moon are mentioned in the Harley, and fans know very well in the lore of the One Piece world that there were winged races that descended to the Blue Planet from the moon after the resources ran out.
The Shandians settled in the Blue Sea, while the Skypieans settled in Skypiea. Meanwhile, the Birkans, another winged race from the moon, settled in Birka. Fans already know that mating is quite common between humans and other races in the One Piece world, which is why the full moon eventually had kids with the humans, resulting in the people of the half moon. It is specifically these people of the half moon that are the people of the D that the fans know of.
Luffy's Voice Of All Things Could Come From The Moon People
Coming over to the Voice of All Things, which is an ancient power in the One Piece world, this power is specifically awakened by those who carry the blood of the D in their veins. So far, Luffy and Roger have shown this power, as have Oden, Momonosuke, and Shirahoshi. In one way or another, all of them have a connection to the Ancient Kingdom and could carry the blood of the D in their veins. It wouldn't be too far-fetched either.
You will see everything one day. Also, Roger didn't actually decipher the Poneglyphs. He couldn't read the ancient writings. We are pirates. There's no way we could match the intellect of the prodigal professor Clover or the other scholars of Ohara. He was able to hear the Voice of All Things in the world. That's all there is to it. — Silvers Rayleigh on the Voice Of All Things
One Piece: Oda Just Confirmed The Strongest Character Of All Time
The strongest character in One Piece has been revealed.
Luffy most likely gained this power from his grandpa, even though Garp does not have this ability himself. If one looks at the Skypiea arc of One Piece, it would be quite easy to see the physical similarities between Luffy, Garp, and the Shandian Elder.
Oda has clearly established a connection between these characters and the implication is that Luffy has the blood of the half moon people, which means he himself comes from the moon.
Since a significant portion of the characters in the One Piece world hold a special connection to the people of the D, it is no surprise that some of them go on to awaken the Voice of All Things, which is what the next big power appears to be for Oda's One Piece at this point in the story.
Sun God Nika Could Also Come From The Moon
Luffy's connection to the moon doesn't just stop there. Fans also know very well that the Sun God Nika emerged from somewhere and it is highly likely that this deity was brought along from the moon, when the people eventually descended to the Blue Planet.
The hints for this are sprinkled all over the story. For one, the people of the Moon and the people of the Half Moon clearly pray to the Sun. Another clue lies in the people of Skypiea. Fans know very well that these people pray to the Sun God, as they did in the arc.
Given that they are the most ancient of races in the One Piece world, it makes perfect sense for the Sun God to have actually come from the Moon as well. On top of that, it must also be remembered that the Sulong turns Minks into a white formed beast upon looking at the Moon. This form is quite similar to Gear 5 itself. Clearly, this ancient energy comes from the moon as well, and that is what Luffy channels too.
Without a doubt, Luffy's ancient power stems from the moon and once he awakens the Voice of All Things, which is the ability to communicate with all beings and things in the One Piece world, the true power of Gear 5 will finally show and fans absolutely cannot wait for that.
