One Piece's final saga has shown the fans just how terrifyingly powerful Luffy has truly become. After defeating Kaido, Luffy rose to the position of Emperor, and since then, he's established himself next to the other legends of the current era. Luffy continues to grow stronger, especially with the way he's using his most powerful ability, Gear 5, which is the awakening of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.

It is because of his Haki and Gear 5 that Luffy was able to defeat Kaido, as fans saw in Wano, but despite that, it is quite clear in the story that neither is his strongest power. In fact, Luffy's strongest ability is his personality, with which he attracts people and makes even his enemies into his allies. This was revealed by Oda himself, and it will come into play in a very exciting manner in the Final Saga of One Piece.

Luffy was sent by Kuma to the island of women, and there, he was the target of all the Kuja, yet, against all odds, he was allowed into Amazon Lily and became a very first man to openly do so.

Luffy made his enemy into a friend, and this trend has continued throughout the story. In Impel Down, all of Luffy's enemies, even Crocodile, teamed up with him and followed him to escape. In the Summit War, Luffy fought with such tenacity that he even impressed Whitebeard, who then ordered his crew to keep Luffy safe.

When Mihawk decided to test Luffy with his blade without mercy, Luffy was absolutely no match for him, but he still survived because of his ability to make allies and have others fight with him. According to Mihawk, in all the seas, this was the greatest power to ever exist.

Gear 5 Is Strong, But Only A Big Army Can Help Destroy The World Government

Luffy Will Lose If He Doesn't Have Allies

There is no denying that Luffy is powerful with Gear 5 and as far as combat prowess goes, it is the strongest asset he has, along with his Haki. But, overall, even Gear 5 isn't comparable to Luffy's ability to make allies and have them fight with him. At the end of the day, the World Government can only be taken down with a collaborative effort, and that means Luffy can't do with even if he had Gear or the strongest Haki. Luffy needs the best crew, but more than that, an amazing force of allies who can fight with him, and only then can this feat be accomplished.
