One Piece is currently in the Final Saga, and it goes without saying that Oda has cranked things up a notch here in terms of intensity and quality. All the biggest reveals of One Piece will be made in the Final Saga, along with the strongest of characters finally making their moves. It is no surprise to the fans that Oda has brought some of the most powerful characters in the story to the forefront now, and that's likely going to become even more prominent as One Piece moves forward.

The Yonko, known to be the four most powerful pirates in One Piece, are, naturally, at the center of things at the moment, given that the race for the One Piece itself is heating up now. To curb their influence, Oda has introduced many more powerful characters in the main plot, such as the Holy Knights, and there is one special group of individuals whose strength surpasses even the Yonko — the Five Elders. Known to be Imu's personal guard, the Five Elders are absolutely incredible in terms of power and they possess frightening strength, as was displayed in Egghead. Their true power, however, remains to be seen.

Fans were introduced to the Five Elders long ago in One Piece, but they only joined in on the action in the Egghead arc of One Piece. There, fans got to see Saint Saturn in combat for the first time, and it's safe to say that he lived up to the expectations.

Saturn, despite being overwhelmed by Luffy on some occasions, was incredibly persistent. His portrayal was certainly better than Admiral Kizaru and it goes without saying that his overall powers were a match for those of Nika.

That said, Saturn was not the most impressive of the Five Elders. Oda went on to reveal the powers of all the other Elders as well, and it is safe to say that they're a force to be reckoned with. All the Elders have access to powerful Conqueror's Haki, as well as dangerous Yokai abilities. On top of that, they also have Immortality, which means whatever damage is inflicted upon them is healed in seconds.

Together, these five are stronger than a single Yonko crew, and there is no doubt about that. Even the Straw Hat Pirates, a Yonko crew, had to run from the Five Elders, and that alone proves that they're stronger than a Yonko crew.

The True Strength Of The Five Elders Is Unseen

The Final Saga Will Show Their Real Power

To make things even crazier, the ranks of the Five Elders were strengthened when Garling Figarland officially joined after Saturn's death. Garling is a legendary fighter who even fought against characters such as Roger, Garp, Rocks, Whitebeard, and other legendary pirates. If only one of them is so strong, together, they'd be far stronger than a single Yonko crew.

What's more, the real strength of the Five Elders hasn't been revealed by Oda just yet. What fans know so far is that the Five Elders have been taking it easy due to having Immortality. They will only be truly compelled to use their full power when they face someone who can counter their Immortality, which hasn't happened yet.

One Piece chapter 1161 will be out in two weeks. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. The official release date for One Piece Chapter 1161 is September 28, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
