This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
Haki is one of the most important powers to exist in the One Piece world. It is a spiritual ability that boosts the defensive and offensive capabilities of the user greatly. Almost all the top tiers in the One Piece world have access to Haki. Yet, it is surprising to note that not all the Straw Hat Pirates have access to this power. So far, Oda has only revealed 4 users of Haki in the Straw Hat Pirates, and the others don't even know how to utilize the most basic forms of it.
One Piece Author Oda Reveals A Marine Strong Enough To Become The Pirate King
This marine is so strong that he could have become the Pirate King had he been a pirate in One Piece.
Surprisingly enough, Oda seems to have revealed yet another user of Haki in the Straw Hat Pirates quite cleverly in the Egghead arc of One Piece. Franky was shown to use Armament Haki towards the very end. However, it must be noted that Franky himself isn't seemingly aware of the fact that he used Haki, which means that in the Elbaf arc, he will most likely go on to awaken it properly.
Franky Could've Awakened Armament Haki Subconsciously In Egghead
The Egghead arc of One Piece did not give the fans many big battles. However, towards the end, Luffy certainly did go on to clash against some members of the Five Elders. It is here that his clash with Mars was specifically highlighted in the story. Luffy knew he could not counter the immortality of Saint Mars. This is precisely why he asked Sanji, Bonney, and Franky to combine their powers and launch a powerful attack on him, which he would then redirect towards Mars.
Listen, Luffy. Haki is a power that is dormant in everyone everywhere. The ability to sense spiritual energy and overwhelm enemies is something everyone has to some degree. But most people never discover it. To never doubt, that is true power. Now watch! Most Haki can be divided into two types or colors. — Silvers Rayleigh to Luffy in Ruskaina
As all three of these individuals combined their powers, Luffy certainly started feeling a lot of pain, which was expected. However, a very curious thing that Luffy stated here was that all of them were using Haki. Fans know that Bonney utilized Armament Haki to punch Luffy.
Meanwhile, Sanji's Ifrit Jambe was powered with haki, and that is quite obvious. The only one here who seemingly did not use Haki was Franky. Yet, Luffy clearly stated that all of them were using Haki, and it certainly did hurt him.
Without Haki, Franky being there did not even make sense, which means that he must have utilized this power unknowingly in this instance, and that he will go on to awaken it properly later down the line.
Luffy States Franky Used Haki On Him
Fans know Franky to be one of the strongest members of the Straw Hat Pirates. It must be kept in mind that he went on to defeat Sasaki in the Wano Country Arc, who is a user of both Armament and Observation Haki. Given that he is at a level where he can beat powerful Haki users, Franky should be able to use Haki at this point in the story. In fact, Oda himself has set up his Haki usage, and fans should keep that in mind going forward.
Listen up boys. You can't hurt these things by ripping them up or crushing them. So I want you to whale on me as hard as you can. Hurry, while I've got a hold of him. But it hurts since you guys are using Haki! — Luffy to Bonney, Franky, and Sanji
One Piece: Oda Has Officially Confirmed The Characters With Joy Boy Level Haki
Joy Boy had insane haki in One Piece. These characters have haki similar to, or just as good as his.
While Franky most definitely isn't aware of the fact that he possesses powerful Haki, this situation could be somewhat similar to Zoro's. As fans know, Zoro was unaware of the fact that he possessed Conqueror's Haki. He seemingly leaked it everywhere and did not use it properly at all.
Franky's case could be somewhat similar. He seems unaware of the fact that he has been using Haki in various instances, which means that a proper moment for him to awaken this power is most definitely on the way. This could happen in the Elbaf arc of One Piece.
Franky's Full Haki Awakening Could Come In Elbaf
Right now, Franky doesn't seem to have any battles lined up for himself in Elbaf. However, it is very curious to note that unlike other members of the Straw Hat Pirates, not including the monster Trio and Chopper, Franky is not incapacitated. He was with Ripley before the Elbaf flashback began and that only means that he's free and ready to fight.
When the battles against the Holy Knights and the other members of the Domi Reversed Army begin, Franky will most likely be one of the biggest assets of the Straw Hat Pirates. It is here that he will likely go on to properly control Armament Haki after first awakening it in Egghead and fans absolutely cannot wait to see that.
After gaining Haki, Franky's overall power should be boosted significantly and he should become strong enough to fight the likes of Yonko Commanders in One Piece.
