This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
The Elbaf arc of One Piece has proven to be incredibly high-stakes action, and absolutely relentless so far, not giving the fans even a single moment to breathe. Every new chapter has been filled with some of the most shocking developments, and fans simply cannot get enough. Right now, the Elbaf arc is specifically focusing on the Loki flashback, and through it, fans got to witness the God Valley Incident, which has proven to be incredible.
It Is Time To Witness One Piece's Most Broken Devil Fruit Power
One Piece' most broken devil fruit is about to show its full potential, and it's greater than anything before it.
The latest chapter covering God Valley, One Piece 1163, demonstrated to the fans just how powerful Imu is. For many years, fans wanted to see what Imu's true capabilities were like, and in One Piece 1163, Oda did just that as Imu used their ultimate ability, Domi Reversi on Rocks D. Xebec. If this ability can work on one of One Piece’s strongest, it raises an important question: can anything even counter Domi Reversi? The answer might lie in Luffy’s Nika fruit, specifically Gear 5.
Domi Reversi Is Overpowered, but Not Invincible
Luffy’s Gear 5 Might Be The Only Counter
Imu’s entrance in God Valley was anticipated by many fans, especially as the Holy Knights were already shown to be present there. It's safe to say that action from Imu in God Valley didn’t disappoint. Imu took over Saturn’s body, just as he has done with Gunko in Elbaf. Through him, Imu has truly been wreaking havoc. In One Piece chapter 1163, Imu tanked the craziest group attack ever seen, which was done by Rocks, Roger, Garp, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Linlin, yet was left practically unscathed.
It's Confirmed: One Piece Could Be Repeating Naruto's Biggest Mistake In The Final Saga
Naruto made a huge mistake in its final arc, and Oda might be repeating this in One Piece.
On top of that, Imu was able to use Domi Reversi on one of One Piece’s very strongest, Rocks D. Xebec. Xebec is a pirate that's clearly on the level of the Pirate King, and for him to fall prey to such an ability left fans shocked. Now, Xebec is Imu’s demon slave. At this point, it might seem as if Domi Reversi is impossible to beat and one simply cannot beat Imu, but that isn't true. The power to counter Domi Reversi might lie in Luffy’s Gear 5.
Luffy has the powers of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, and upon awakening it, he unlocked Gear 5. This form essentially turns him into the Sun God. With Gear 5, Luffy’s powers of imagination are boundless. Luffy most likely has the power to reverse Domi Reversi itself. After all, Luffy’s and Imu’s powers are complete opposites. Luffy’s powers work with joy and laughter, while Imu’s powers enchain and spread slavery and misery.
Could Domi Reversi Have Other Counters?
- Blackbeard’s Yami Yami No Mi Could Be Another One
- Very Advanced Conqueror’s Haki Might Reverse It
Luffy’s Gear 5 might be the most obvious counter to Domi Reversi, but there could also be others. One of One Piece's legendary Devil Fruits, the Yami Yami no Mi, could potentially cancel out the power of Imu's Devil Fruit entirely. This power is held by Blackbeard, Rocks’s own son. The Yami Yami no Mi is known to be the strongest Logia for a reason, and it is key when it comes to defeating Imu.
Another ability that could counter Domi Reversi is Conqueror’s Haki. A very advanced Conqueror’s Haki could stop someone from being turned into a demon, but it probably can’t free someone after they have become a demon. Joy Boy’s Haki was strong enough to cancel Imu's powers in Egghead, so someone with that level of Haki can probably resist Domi Reversi.
One Piece's next chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on October 26. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
