The fact is that this is only the tip of the iceberg and more intense things are coming up in the future, which is what makes fans more excited for what's to come. However, what Oda has planned for the end of One Piece and what fans get in the end could be drastically different, much to the shock of all the fans all over the world. Oda has already revealed that he could make a bizarre change to the end of the story, and here's why.

One Piece's End Is Edging Closer

  • Elbaf Has Revealed The Final Antagonist
  • Luffy Is Close To The One Piece

Fans know that One Piece is already in its Final Saga. Previously, Oda revealed to the fans that once the Wano Country arc ends, One Piece's end would be in sight. This came as a shock to many, as fans had assumed the end would still be far away. Now, One Piece is deep into the Final Saga and right now, the story is in the Elbaf arc.

The mysteries of the world, I'll draw them all! — Eiichiro Oda

This arc is already setting up the conclusion to the whole story, and things such as the Elbaf Mural and the Harley texts basically confirm that. What's more, Oda has now revealed the main villain of the Elbaf arc of One Piece, and it is quite clear for the fans to see that it is none other than the greatest villain in the story, Imu, the leader of the Celestial Dragons. This is a shocking move by Oda for some, and it basically tells the fans how close to the end of the series is.

On top of that, it must also be kept in mind that Luffy is also very close to the One Piece right now. He has 3 of the 4 Road Poneglyphs that he needs to get to the Final Island. In other words, one more and he'll be the Pirate King. Clearly, One Piece's end is getting closer and fans absolutely cannot wait. But Oda could potentially give fans an alternate ending, based on how much of the remaining story they can guess.

Oda Doesn't Like Fans Predicting His Story

Oda Has Stated On Multiple Occasions That He Prefers To Keep Delivering Surprises

Oda absolutely adores his fans and he doesn't have many gripes with them at all. However, if there's one thing that he absolutely hates, it is the fact that One Piece fans love to theorize and predict future events. Of course, some guesses are wide off the mark, but some others are actually quite accurate. At TheBestWarGames, we have predicted numerous future events accurately as well. Oda isn't fond of fans theorizing, however.

Recently, a Japanese radio station confirmed indirectly that Oda dislikes One Piece fans trying to predict future events. As a result of this, it is reported that one of the biggest theory websites in Japan has deleted all their theories. Even some YouTubers seem to have been moved by Oda's words. What's even worse is that Oda himself stated that he would change One Piece's ending if someone predicted it accurately.

Oda Said He Would Change The Ending If Fans Predicted It

According to Oda, he already came up with the ending of One Piece during his college years. In other words, Oda had the ending planned right from when the story began. He has also shared the ending with many people already. All of Oda's Editors know his ending, as do some anime staff members. For insurance, Goro Taniguchi, who directed One Piece Film Red, knows all about One Piece's end.

That said, while Oda does have the ending planned, he also said that he will change it if fans around the world grasp on to what it is actually. This isn't necessarily a good thing. Oda does want things to be unpredictable, but at the end of the day, deviations from the original idea could result in a worse plot, and we highly doubt that Oda would actually do that.
