Xebec has always been heavily tied to the God Valley Incident, and it appears that after years upon years of waiting, One Piece fans finally have the story of Rocks in front of them. One Piece will, inevitably, give the fans the God Valley Incident, and at the same time, show how each major character got involved in it.

The likes of Rocks, Roger, and Garp were always going to be heavily involved in the God Valley Incident, but one character that fans tend to forget about is Garling Figarland. Oda made it quite clear that Garling is deeply involved in the God Valley Incident, and that this incident in itself is deeply connected to the story of Shanks and Shamrock. For the longest time, fans wanted to see how God Valley ties into their stories, and now, it seems that Oda has given everyone that very answer. In One Piece chapter 1158, Shanks and Shamrock can both be seen in God Valley, along with a certain Red-haired woman, who is clearly their mom.

Initially, fans didn't think that Shamrock and Shanks's mother would be as important to the story, but the moment it was confirmed that Garling doesn't have red hair, her importance skyrocketed. It is quite clear that both Shamrock and Shanks took after their mother when it comes to red hair, and she is exceptionally important to the main plot.

For now, all fans know is that she was with Shamrock and Shanks in God Valley. It isn't clear if she is a Celestial Dragon, or a commoner, but the most likely situation here is that she is a normal woman who had a child with Garling during his time on God Valley. In fact, it is highly likely that she is a member of the D clan, although that remains to be a theory, but a very likely one at that.

Shanks's mother will have incredible importance moving forward. Fans must remember that s he is the one that Shanks named his crew after, and his moniker is based on her too. Everything that Shanks is right now could be a tribute to her and that in itself makes her a very important character. It is unknown what happened to her and whether or not she's still alive, but fans will find that out soon enough.

The fact is that Shanks rejects the Celestial Dragon lineage, and at the same time, embraces his mother's red hair and name with open arms. She is likely a very important driving factor for Shanks, and fans know that very well. It is only a matter of time before Oda sheds light on her relationship with her children, as well as her eventual fate at the end of God Valley, where she could've potentially sacrificed herself.
