It seems that the Marines dominated this SBS, as not only did fans get to find out information about the past of the Marine Admirals who joined during the timeskip, that is, Fujitora and Green Bull, but at the same time, they also found out a lot of information pertaining to the SWORD members who are seen active in Egghead.

At the same time, Oda also shed some light on the many Vice Admirals seen present in the war of Egghead Island, who led a powerful Buster Call against the Strawhat Pirates. Fans found out what powers they wield, as well as their fighting styles. In the midst of all this, Oda also ended up revealing some new Devil Fruits to the fans, while providing more context to some others that were properly introduced in One Piece's Egghead.

Oda Reveals Major Details About The Navy Vice Admirals On Egghead

  • New Admirals Fighting Styles Revealed
  • Oda Reveals Navy Devil Fruita

The Vice Admirals of the Marines were minor antagonists in the Egghead Island arc. Immediately after it was announced that the Marines would try to attack Egghead, fans knew that the Marine Vice Admirals would be called into action. Vice Admiral Doll was one of the few who fans saw at the beginning, leading a battleship towards Egghead. It was then revealed that many other Vice Admirals were going to join them, and the likes of Doberman, whom fans were introduced to before the time skip, also tagged along. At the same time, fans were also introduced to many new Vice Admirals of the Navy as well, and their abilities were finally illustrated in the story.

Oda showcased the true strength of the Vice Admirals, and while it was certainly impressive in some ways, such as when Vice Admiral Doll fought against some Giants and injured them, it was certainly disappointing in others, such as when Franky absolutely destroyed Vice Admiral Red King with a Strong Right. All in all, they're not major threats to a Yonko crew, but that is not to say that they are weak. Unfortunately for them, they were up against Luffy's crew, and they had absolutely no way of winning against them. The most exciting thing about these Marine Vice Admirals that played a role in the Egghead Island Arc was their abilities.

While not all of them wielded Devil Fruit powers, Oda certainly did reveal some of them with incredible abilities that raised an eyebrow, to say the least. Some of them also possessed overpowered abilities, and now, Oda has finally explained to the fans what abilities they wield and how they work.

Naturally, when new Marines were introduced to the fans in Egghead, there was always a possibility that fans would see them in combat. That is precisely what happened in Egghead Island, and these Marine Vice Admirals were up against the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as their allies. To stop them, they utilized their full power, which included new Devil Fruit abilities as well. Oda has finally named these Devil Fruits now, and their capabilities are clear.

Rako Rako no Mi

Pomsky in human and hybrid forms, the latter of which makes him turn into a sea otter in One Piece

The Rako Rako no Mi is a powerful Zoan-type devil fruit that was introduced in the Egghead War. This Devil Fruit allows the user to transform into a sea otter at will. At the same time, the user can also transform into a hybrid sea otter, which allows them to maintain the powers of the creature in a humanoid form.

This Devil Fruit was eaten by Vice Admiral Pomsky. It is quite powerful and it allows him to channel his immense strength through his weapon. Given that Sea Otter are aquatic animals as well, it is highly likely that Pomsky can survive underwater, but most likely cannot swim. It is certainly not the best Devil Fruit introduced in One Piece, but it is an exciting one, to say the least.

Tsutsu Tsutsu no Mi

Eaten by Vice Admiral Urban, Tsutsu Tsutsu no Mi was introduced to the fans in the Egghead Island arc, and is a very powerful Devil Fruit that belongs to the Paramecia class. This Devil Fruit allows Urban to transform into a cannon, or, use any specific part of his body and turn it into a cannon at will. This makes him a cannon human. The strength of the cannonballs he fires is presumably the same as a Navy battleship, which makes him very dangerous, to say the least.

Nori Nori no Mi

The Nori Nori no Mi es a Paramecia Devil Fruit eaten by Vice Admiral Bluegrass. This Devil Fruit was seen properly in the Egghead Island arc and its abilities were revealed as well. Like the vast majority of the others that were introduced to the fans in the SBS, Oda explained its capabilities.

This Devil Fruit allows Bluegrass to ride anyone and then control them permanently. The user can even control strong Mark 3 Pacifista, or, stronger humans as well. The only downside to this ability is that it can be countered by strong Haki, which means that it won't work against strong individuals.

Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Hound

The Inu Inu No Mi Model: Hound is a powerful Zoan type of Devil Fruit that was eaten by Vice Admiral Hound of the Marines. This Devil Fruit, as the name implies, allows the user to transform into a Hound and a hound hybrid. Given that hounds are quite powerful, users of this Devil Fruit possess tremendous might.

Of course, this is also certainly not among the strongest Devil Fruits that fans got to see in the Egghead Island arc but is formidable, to say the least. It must also be remembered that this Devil Fruit gives the power of a predatory canine, which means that it is perfect for combat, as opposed to others that were revealed in the SBS, such as the Sea Otter Devil Fruit.

Are The Marine Vice Admirals Strong?

They Vice Admirals Are As Strong As They Need To Be

Undoubtedly, the Marine Vice Admirals are quite powerful. However, they certainly are not among the strongest individuals in One Piece and, at this point, cannot be taken seriously anymore. Among the Marines, only the Admirals, the Fleet Admiral, and of course, the exception of Garp, can be taken into consideration as a serious threat, apart from rising members of SWORD. That said, fans will most likely see some powerful Vice Admirals rise through the ranks, such as Smoker, and make an impression once again.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1131, is set to be November 11, 2024.
