What's even more surprising is that Oda has already scratched the surface with the Elbaf arc, and there's most definitely more to come. In One Piece chapter 1144, Oda revealed massive secrets to the fans, and while some of them appeared to be rather subtle, they actually change how the whole world of One Piece is perceived. In simpler words, Oda has given fans a glimpse of the First World, and at the same time, revealed one of the oldest countries on the One Piece planet.

The Planet Of The One Piece World — Blue Star

  • The One Piece Planet Is Called The Blue Star
  • The Planet Is Rich When It Comes To Resources

There is absolutely no denying the fact that the One Piece world is absolutely massive, but there is still way too little that fans know about it. The One Piece world has very intriguing geography. It has small islands all over and the vast majority is covered by oceans. There is a big strip of land running right through the world that encircles it, called the Red Line. Perpendicular to the Red Line is a stretch of ocean with one small strip of sea adjacent to it on each side.

Our world has been destroyed twice in the past already! — Jarul

The main stretch is called the Grand Line, while the strips of ocean adjacent to it on each side is the Calm Belt, where winds don't blow. The Grand Line itself is divided into two parts by the Red Line. The first half is known as Paradise, while the second half is known as the New World. Together, the Red Line and the Grand Line split the world of One Piece into four quadrants, those being North Blue, East Blue, South Blue, and West Blue. This is the world of One Piece, as fans know it.

Thanks to the Egghead Arc, fans also know a lot more about the previous state of the One Piece world. It was revealed recently in One Piece that the world long ago used to be very different. 900 years ago, the world of One Piece wasn't covered with oceans as much as it is today. In fact, the Great War that was fought long ago sunk the world by 200 meters. In other words, the true One Piece world is under the ocean currently.

More recently, Oda also touched upon the subject of the One Piece planet once more. He officially revealed the name of the planet to the fans, and it is surely very interesting, to say the least. Here's what Oda had to say:

QUESTION: Odacchi, hello! In Chapter 987 was the bridge that the Roger Pirates and Oden saw Tequila Wolf? Or Bourbon Wolf? And what is the name of the planet that Luffy and the others are adventuring?

EIICHIRO ODA: NNN!! What?! You're focusing on that?! Uuuh, the planet is called "Blue Planet". And the bridge that Oden saw... It's Not "Tequila Wolf"!! How did I know that? I won't say it's "Bourbon Wolf". But it's not "Tequila Wolf". That's my answer!! We find out there are 4 bridges in Chapter 1125, so there's no way you could know that in Chapter 967. But looking back, why did I think so? Amazing.

Elbaf Is One Of The Oldest Known Countries In The One Piece World

Elbaf Existed 3000 Years Ago In One Piece

As far as the ancient history goes, fans know very little in One Piece. However, the Elbaf arc has given bits and pieces to the readers once again. Specifically, in One Piece chapter 1144, Oda revealed to the fans that the world of One Piece has countries that have stood for around 3000 years, if not more. Up until now, fans knew very little about the ancient past, and most assumed that the world went as far back as 900 years ago.

Now, it has essentially been confirmed by Oda that 900 years ago, the world that existed wasn't the first world, but actually already a post-apocalyptic world. The first world of One Piece existed long before that.

Just looking at it, this place must be at least 3 millennia old! — Lilith

To add to that, Lilith, one of the Vegapunks, revealed in One Piece chapter 1144 that the old science facility that she came across in Elbaf is at least 3000 years old. The only significant time period before the Void Century that fans know of is the First World. In other words, Elbaf is from the First World, and existed 3000 years ago in One Piece. This also makes it one of the oldest known country in the world of One Piece. There are two more old countries that fans know existed in One Piece. These two are Arabasta, where the castle was built 4000 years ago, and Ohara, where the Tree of Knowledge was planted 5000 years ago. But, given that Elbaf is directly connected to Nika, it is likely to be older than the other two, especially given the lifespan of the Giants, particularly Ancient Giants.

More information has been revealed about the ancient world of One Piece. The plot thickens in One Piece.

While this comes as a surprise to many, it shouldn't be. After all, Vegapunk already revealed in Egghead that the tales of Nika, the Sun God, stem from Elbaf. In fact, Joy Boy, who had the rubbery powers of Nika, was directly compared to the legendary God of Elbaf from thousands of years ago. In other words, Nika was an Elbaf giant and existed over 3000 years ago in the world of One Piece.

What Happened 3000 Years Ago In One Piece?

The First World Was Destroyed

Based on all the information that fans have so far, it is clear that the First World existed around 3000 years ago, which means that whatever was stated in the Harley about the First World happened during this time period. Here's what the Harley states about the First World of One Piece:

The First World

One Piece Luffy Gear 5 Egghead-1

Flames engulfed the land, and humans succumbed to their desires, touching the forbidden Sun. The enslaved prayed, and the Sun God appeared. The Earth God was enraged, and together with the serpent of infernal flames, shrouded the world in death and darkness. They would never meet again.

As is clear from the text, humans lived in a far more advanced world during the First World. There was immense technology, and at the same time, infinite power as well, which was harnessed as a flame, or in other words, Motherflame. This led to mass slavery in order to gain access to more Motherflame, which in turn led the slaves to pray for a savior. This savior was none other than Nika, who descended upon the Blue Star.

Nika's arrival meant that the ruling class was in fear, and this connects to the Earth God and the Serpent of Hellfire destroying the world together. It is likely that Nika was killed, but so was the entire world. Humanity ceased to exist in large parts, and what was left were bits and pieces of the world. Elbaf clearly survived all that, but a massive portion of its population was likely wiped out.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1145, is set to be April 6, 2025.
