The Straw Hats are the main heroes of One Piece. The crew boasts of an incredible array of fighters, who have taken down some of the most powerful One Piece characters. Most of the time, the focus is on the Monster Trio, but there are other crew members who are armed with powerful abilities, and Nico Robin is one of them.
Her primary role may be that of an archaeologist, but she has proven herself to be an excellent combatant. Robin received a major power-up in the Wano Country arc, in which she defeated Black Maria. However, she certainly needs more upgrades if she wants to beat her next opponents in One Piece.

Nico Robin has, for the most part, mastered her Devil Fruit ability. She can create limbs and use them in a plethora of different ways. Her latest power-up, Demonio Fleur, allowed her to ragdoll someone as strong as Black Maria. From her fights, it's quite obvious that Nico Robin is extremely skilled at using her Devil Fruit. Unfortunately, her Devil Fruit ability won't be sufficient to beat someone with a Logia-type Devil Fruit, which is why she needs Haki.

Presently, Robin is the fifth-strongest member of the Straw Hat Pirates. She's only behind the Monster Trio and Jimbei in terms of fighting prowess. The other four are growing at a steady rate, and all of them have Haki. Nico Robin needs Haki so that she doesn't fall too far behind them.
So, Oda needs to give her Haki. Fans already saw the level of enemies that the Straw Hats will be facing in the Final Saga. A lot of them are immortal, and Haki is likely the only way to hurt them. In fact, Robin got first-hand experience when she fought Shepherd Sommers, one of the Holy Knights. Sommers was able to subdue Robin with minimal effort, and he would have eliminated her if Scopper Gaban hadn't arrived in the nick of time.

When Robin gets Haki, it will make her a better fighter. She will be able to handle stronger opponents, which will help the crew significantly. Robin will likely get Armament Haki, as it will work well with her Devil Fruit ability. The chances of Robin getting Observation Haki are low, but it would be unwise to rule out the possibility entirely.
Aside from giving Robin Armament Haki, Oda will have to grant her Devil Fruit Awakening at some point. As previously stated, Nico Robin has nearly mastered the Hana Hana no Mi. She can even create clones, who can fight in her stead. The only thing left is to give Robin her Devil Fruit Awakening. With the power, she can use new types of attacks.
Nico Robin's final opponent will be Catarina Devon of the Blackbeard Pirates. The latter is known as the Crescent Moon Hunter and was kept on level 6 inside Impel Down, meaning that she is one of the worst criminals in history. Catarina Devon has a ton of experience under her belt, and she has fought many top fighters in her lifetime. Furthermore, she has access to the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune. It is a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows her to morph into any person that she touches. Since it belongs to the Zoan class, it's likely that the Devil Fruit also boosts her physical abilities. Catarina Devon has only used the Devil Fruit power, so it's unclear what she can do with it, but things will become clear in the coming arcs.
Nico Robin's battle against Catarina Devon will certainly be magnificent. The two are among the most powerful pirates in One Piece, and both have access to dangerous abilities. Currently, the only advantage that Robin has is her intellect. She is cunning and knows how to take full advantage of her opponent's weakness.
