This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
One Piece is currently in the Elbaf arc, and Oda is exploring one of the most interesting parts of not just this arc, but the entire story, and all that's down to Loki. When Loki was first introduced, little did fans know that he would be connected to the legendary Rocks D. Xebec in any way.
One Piece: Oda Finally Reveals Roger And Shanks's Fighting Style, And It Is The Strongest
Both Shanks and Roger are talented sword users. Oda reveals what fighting style they use in One Piece.
However, he is not only connected to Rocks, but actually idolizes this. This gave Oda a perfect excuse to incorporate Rocks into his flashback and flesh him out as a character. Now, Oda is drawing all the major One Piece mysteries surrounding Rocks D. Xebec, and in doing so, he has also set up Imu's next big fight after the Elbaf arc of the story.
Imu Vs Blackbeard Has Been Set Up By Oda Already
- Rocks D. Xebec Saw Imu
- Rocks Promised He Will Return One Day
One Piece chapter 1155 was absolutely massive in many ways, but quite easily the most shocking part of the chapter was when Rocks D. Xebec was revealed to have attacked the Holy Land of Marijoa. Rocks was revealed to have taken 5 Kings as hostages to use extortion on Imu. His goal was quite clearly to become the King of the World, but given that Imu didn't actually care, Rocks had to withdraw and formulate a better plan.
I will be back, right here, to this place! — Rocks to Imu
Before Rocks D. Xebec left Marijoa, however, he made it quite clear to Imu that while he is leaving, he will return for him one day. Rocks's promise sent shivers down the spines of the fans, and for good reason. Not only did Rocks directly challenge Imu, but fans also know that he will eventually go on to return, in one way or another.
Rocks Didn't Fight Imu, But Blackbeard Will
Blackbeard Has Inherited Rocks's Will
As fans know, Rocks promised that he would eventually come for Imu. But, quite clearly, he didn't. This is because Rocks supposedly died during the God Valley Incident, around 38 years ago. But, Rocks's death doesn't change anything, because Blackbeard exists. Just like his father, Blackbeard aims to become the King of the World. He also knows all about his father and aims to fulfill his goal, directly or indirectly.
What do we want? The world! — Blackbeard Pirates
One Piece: Oda Might Have Already Revealed Mihawk’s Parents
Mihawk is the world's strongest swordsman. Oda might have revealed his parents.
Either way, what's clear is that One Piece will showcase Blackbeard tackling Imu soon enough in the story, and it absolutely has to. Imu is strong and there is no denying that, but Blackbeard is no pushover either. Just as Rocks promised to Imu, he will return, only this time, his will will be carried out by his son, Teach.
The World Of One Piece Will Be Turned Upside Down
To put it simply, it seems that One Piece will give fans a Blackbeard Vs Imu battle soon, and likely in the Holy Land of Marijoa. It has been made clear that Marijoa is already under attack, and perhaps this is the doing of none other than the Blackbeard Pirates.
