The Elbaf arc of One Piece has done incredibly well to take the fans on a deep dive into the history of the world, around 50 or so years ago. Before the era of Roger, the age belonged to none other than Rocks, and fans have been given quite an incredible look at it by Oda. Fans had been waiting for Oda to give them a proper look at Rocks D. Xebec and his story ever since he was first mentioned, and it is only now that Oda has finally decided to do so.

Rocks's story has been absolutely fascinating, but more than that, Oda has also revealed some incredibly exciting details to the fans about the deep history of the world, dating back to 800 or so years ago. Finally, Oda has revealed the two strongest pirates of the Void Century, and they're none other than Joy Boy and Davy D. Jones.

One Piece fans know very well that Joy Boy is a legendary figure who existed long ago. In the Egghead Arc, Oda threw quite a lot of focus on Joy Boy and even went on to say that he was the first to be called a pirate. Joy Boy existed during the Void Century and he came from the Ancient Kingdom that was once incredibly bountiful. Joy Boy sailed the seas, and more than that, he wanted to connect the people of the world. In doing so, Joy Boy went up against 20 Kings, who most certainly weren't open to this idea, and eventually, this is what led to the Great War in the world of One Piece.

At the same time, Oda also revealed to the fans bits and pieces about the Davy Family recently. It was revealed that long ago, a legendary pirate by the name of Davy D. Jones existed in the One Piece world. This pirate is the direct ancestor of Rocks D. Xebec and with him, Marshall D. Teach. Davy D. Jones was a massive threat who went against Imu, which is how Imu knows of their existence. At the same time, fans also know that Davy Jones’s will is currently carried on by Teach.

While it is unclear what happened to Davy Jones, the lore of the One Piece world says that Davy was cursed by the Sea Devil, Imu, and forced to stay at the bottom of the ocean. It is said that Davy Jones is alive to this day and that he lays claim to all the sunken treasure and ships in the world.

Davy Jones was such a legendary figure that even though his name and family were erased long ago, pirates everywhere have heard of him. Most of the clan members have been hunted down, and in God Valley, a special hunt for Davy members was carried out. Teach is the only known survivor of this family.
