This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
The One Piece manga has been going strong for almost three decades now, and right now, fans are getting some of the most incredible content from the author. Thanks to the Loki flashback, One Piece's story is getting more exciting than ever before, and this just goes to show that the final saga is truly the best part of the story, where all the major reveals are being made and the strongest characters gather as well.
Say Hello To One Piece's New Nika After Monkey D. Luffy
Monkey D. Luffy isn't the only Nika in One Piece. Oda introduces another character who can turn into Nika.
Recently, in the God Valley flashback, Oda made a major revelation concerning how Imu and the World Government can ultimately be taken down. Oda revealed through Rocks D. Xebec that the key to the liberation of the One Piece world from the clutches of Imu will be through two devil fruits. While the Devil Fruits aren't named, they're assumed to be the Yami Yami no Mi, which is Blackbeard's fruit, and the Hito Hito No Mi, Model: Nika, which belongs to Luffy. The truth is, however, Blackbeard could potentially take down Imu on his own and fulfill the Will of Davy.
Blackbeard Has The Legendary Power Of The Strongest Devil Fruit
Blackbeard, also known as Marshall D. Teach, is quite the anomaly in the One Piece world. So far, he's the only One Piece character who has shown the ability to eat more than one Devil Fruit. The exact reason as to why he can do that is a mystery, even though there are many popular theories floating around.
Blackbeard’s first Devil Fruit is the Yami Yami no Mi, or the darkness Devil Fruit, and his second one is the Gura Gura no Mi, a tremor Devil Fruit he killed Whitebeard to get his hands on. Both these Devil Fruits are referred to as the strongest in their respective categories, with the former being the strongest of all Devil Fruits in general. Some fans believe Blackbeard will acquire a third, Zoan Devil Fruit as well.
Undoubtedly, the strongest Zoan Devil Fruit has become apparent in the story, and it’s none other than Luffy’s Hito Hito No Mi, Model: Nika. While Blackbeard will never get his hands on this Devil Fruit, if he did, he would have been able to solo the World Government, including Imu.
Rocks Revealed The Way To Beat Imu
Rocks D. Xebec revealed that to topple the World Government, two Devil Fruits are needed. It isn’t explicitly stated what Devil Fruits they are, but he stated that one of them was in Elbaf, and given their connection to Nika, it is quite clear that this was the Nika fruit. Rocks wanted Harald to eat this fruit.
One Piece Finally Reveals The Next Level Of Haki
Advanced Haki isn't the final step. Oda reveals a level of mastery beyond that in One Piece.
Meanwhile, the only other fruit that can beat Imu is most likely the Yami Yami no Mi, which can cancel out the power of the Devil itself. With the ability to cancel other abilities, Imu would be powerless against Blackbeard and this would open up the room for Teach to beat him, possibly even becoming the King of the One Piece world, just as Davy Jones once was. Blackbeard might be the only character with the ability to beat Imu singlehandedly at the moment.
Blackbeard And Luffy Could Fight Imu Together
Blackbeard has been set up for years to be a major antagonist in the One Piece world. After all, Blackbeard is the reason why Ace, Luffy’s brother, ultimately died.
However, if the Great War begins and greater things are at stake, Luffy and Blackbeard might have to set their differences aside, at least until the Final War against Imu is over. If they don’t cooperate, then taking down Imu might be impossible as each one of them holds a part of the key. After Imu is defeated, the two of them could have a final face-off, which would mean Blackbeard is the final antagonist of One Piece.
