One Piece re-edition has excited all the fans in a time when there is no new One Piece chapter or Egghead anime episode to look forward to. The last week was quite massive for One Piece fans, not just in terms of the story progressing forward in the manga, but also because both the anime and manga announced hiatuses for different reasons.
One Piece Chapter 1131 Delayed, New Release Date Announced
One Piece goes on break. Oda focuses on the OPLA instead of the manga for the next few weeks.
Of course, this was incredibly saddening for the fans, but, One Piece re-edition, which was a completely new project announced by the One Piece anime team, stepped forward as something to ease the pain, and at the same time, improve the anime version of the story even further. But, while fans were looking forward to One Piece re-edition episode 1 airing later this week, it has now been revealed that the episode itself has been delayed.
One Piece Re-Edition Episode 1 Delayed
- MLB World Series Takes One Piece’s Place
- One Piece Re-Edition Will Air In November
As announced earlier today, One Piece re-edition episode 1 has now officially been delayed. The episode, which was originally scheduled to air on October 27, 2024, will now have its place taken by The MLB World Series. Naturally, fans are not happy about this, given that a lot of excitement was already built up for this anime episode, and at the same time, there is no One Piece manga to look forward to next week either. This means that fans will have to wait longer for One Piece re-edition to debut to formulate an opinion on whether Fishman Island is actually good or not, and whether the change is made to it, both in terms of art and animation, and of course, also in terms of pacing, are worth it or not. Above all, fans will have to go about 2 weeks without any One Piece content, and that certainly is a blow. However, this also gives fans ample time to theorize about the multiple happenings in the manga, and at the same time, also look forward to the other projects that Oda announced instead.
Fans will most definitely not be getting a One Piece re-edition episode this Sunday. However, something else to look forward to on the same day is Oda’s message about One Piece Live Action season 2. It has been confirmed now that Oda will reveal information pertaining to One Piece Live Action season 2 next weekend, which certainly does relieve a lot of the fans. This essentially means that while there is no One Piece content to look forward to, at the very least, fans can hear from Oda himself and possibly get more information on development of the One Piece’s Arabasta Saga in the TV series.
At the same time, it was also announced that in the following week, fans will get to see Oda take on a question-and-answer event, where he will answer 10 questions about One Piece, and these questions will likely be centered around the future of the story from here onwards, although some general questions might also be involved. Regardless, there is enough content for fans to be excited about in the upcoming two weeks, even though One Piece re-edition episode 1 is delayed.
One Piece Re-Edition Episode 1 Release Date
One Piece Re-edition Episode One Comes Out In Two Weeks
Naturally, fans might be wondering as to when One Piece re-edition episode 1 will now be released. The official release date of One Piece re-addition episode 1 is set to be November 4th, 2024. This change came after a delay was announced, and now, fans have to wait about 2 weeks for the episode to officially air. The episode will air at 9:30 a.m. JST. As always, fans can watch the episode on Crunchyroll, and, in doing so, support the official release of the anime.
What Is One Piece Re-Edition About?
One Piece Re-edition Is A Remaster Of The Fishman Island Arc
For those fans who are still not aware of what One Piece re-edition is, it is essentially a retelling of the Fishman Island Saga of the series. This fits in perfectly after the One Piece Fan Letter episode, which saw the Straw Hat Pirates reunite on Sabaody Archipelago.
Now, fans will see the story continue on Sabaody again, and show the fans how every Straw Hat met and then headed to Fishman Island. Essentially, the entire Fishman Island Saga, which includes the Return to Sabaody mini-arc, and the Fishman Island Arc, will be covered in this upcoming re-edition.
One Piece Fishman Island Arc Re-Edition: What Fans Can Expect
The One Piece anime enters a hiatus, but fans can enjoy a remastered Fishman Island Arc with updated visuals, better pacing, and new episodes.
As to why fans should be incredibly excited about this event, the reason is quite simple. The Fishman Island re-edition is going to revamp how the One Piece anime looked around the time of the Fishman Island Saga. Essentially, the art of the anime is going to improve dramatically. As has been made clear by the preview, the line filter that Toei has used quite a lot since Wano for One Piece will be present in the Fishman Island re-edition as well.
The art is dramatically improved and has a lot more depth behind it this time around. The animation itself is largely going to be untouched, but it will still be polished significantly. Perhaps, some key animation scenes might be altered in some ways, which, although could deliver exciting results, might also upset other fans for different reasons. Essentially, the Fishman Island re-edition of One Piece is going to be a remaster of sorts, which means that it will be the same Fishman Island Arc, but it will simply look much better.
However, the biggest change that excites all One Piece fans is that the One Piece re-edition is going to fix the pacing of the series. The pacing of Fishman Island Arc in the One Piece anime is abysmal. Of course, it is still not as bad as the Wano Country Arc or the Dressrosa Arc. But, it is not ideal by any means. In the manga, Fishman Island has about 51 chapters, and these 51 chapters have been adapted into 51 episodes, which is simply not good enough. The One Piece Fishman Island re-edition is going to condense all that into 21 episodes or so, which means that the pacing will be dramatically improved, and fans will have a much better experience.
Ideally, 21 to 24 episodes is what Fishman Island should be adapted into, which means that a lot of useless filler material and extended scenes will likely be cut off from the anime to make it a much better experience. Of course, fans will still need to see it in practice before they can judge the One Piece re-edition properly, but, on paper, it certainly does look promising.
Once the One Piece re-edition airs following its delay, fans can finally decide on whether the show is a success or not. Either way, as the Egghead Arc of Anime is being worked upon by the staff, the Fishman Island Arc will provide fans with some entertainment, and at the very least, a refresher on how good the storytelling of the series was after returning from the timeskip.
The One Piece re-edition will begin airing on November 3, 2024. Fans can stream it on Crunchyroll as always, in the same time slot as usual.
