This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.

For years, One Piece has absolutely dominated when it comes to the manga industry. The One Piece manga is absolutely top-notch, and it goes without saying that it is the most successful, and at the same time, the best-written manga series of all time. One Piece's success when it comes to manga can't be understated, but at the same time, it must be said that the anime for the series isn't anywhere close to the level it should be at.

The One Piece anime is the biggest weak point of the franchise. Granted, the anime has improved massively over the years when it comes to animation and direction, bringing in world-class talent and delivering some of the greatest episodes that fans have ever seen, as a whole, it is still very weak. Thankfully, there is a replacement for Toei Animation’s One Piece anime on the way, and it is yet another One Piece anime, only this one is far more ambitious and it will be produced by none other than Wit Studio.

  • Wit Studio's One Piece will be a better version of the Toei anime
  • Fans expect better animation, modern sound design, and better pacing

Toei Animation's One Piece has served as a great starting point for many fans of the series. Most fans of One Piece actually grew up with it, and it goes without saying that this anime, back in its own era, was quite alright. However, as a whole product, the One Piece anime is not good enough. The series is actually very weak, especially when taking into consideration the fact that it is horribly paced.

I want the staff to go wild with their imagination in this upcoming One Piece anime adaptation. — Eiichiro Oda

The One Piece anime has almost as many episodes as manga chapters, without even adapting about an arc’s worth of chapters, which is astonishing. In other words, the One Piece anime would actually have more episodes than manga chapters, and that's diabolical.

The pacing for the anime is its biggest downfall, but more than that, the anime used outdated sound design as well. If that wasn't bad enough, the animation of the series is extremely inconsistent in terms of quality. While One Piece’s overall quality is better since Wano, it has long stretches of horribly animated episodes, especially from Fishman Island to Dressrosa. There are still gems in there, such as Episode 614, or 727, but overall, it is not something that can stand next to a modern anime, or something that can get the best shouts. This is why the Wit Studio One Piece Remake, called The One Piece, was announced in the first place, and it'll truly be an adaptation that One Piece deserves.

One Piece Will Finally Have The Anime It Deserves

Wit Studio's One Piece Will Be The Greatest Anime Adaptation

Wit Studio's The One Piece will be the most accurate adaptation of Oda's manga. It'll be paced far better, and fans should expect 1100+ chapters of content to be compressed into around 500-600 episodes at most. At the same time, fans should fully expect a modern sound design, and more than that, absolutely stunning animation that rivals and even beats Toei's very best. On top of all this, there won't be any filler or extended fight scenes that absolutely ruin the canon, and all in all, fans will finally get the perfect replacement for Toei Animation's One Piece in the form of another One Piece anime.
