This article contains spoilers for One Piece's Elbaf Arc.

One Piece is in the Elbaf arc at the moment, and it is here that most of the Straw Hat Pirates will go on to get their next power-ups. Luffy is bound to get stronger, with his Conqueror's Haki set to improve, with Zoro and Sanji set to improve their Haki as well.

For Zoro, however, improving Haki isn't the only power-up in One Piece. At his core, Zoro is a swordsman and his biggest power-ups come when he makes his swords stronger. Thankfully, Zoro has a lot of potential to get stronger when it comes to his new swords, and Oda has already set up his next sword power-up.

  • Sandai Kitetsu Is A Wazamono Blade

When it comes to Zoro's swords, fans know very well that he often upgrades his blades. When he started on his journey with Luffy, he didn't have any great swords, other than Wado Ichimonji, which he inherited from Kuina after her death. In Loguetown, Zoro got his hands on Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu. Unfortunately, Yubashiri was lost in Enies Lobby, and Zoro received Shusui in the Thriller Bark arc.

Is that....Kitetsu? — Zoro and Nusjuro seeing each other's Kitetsu blades

After returning Shusui to the Land of Wano, Zoro received Enma as an upgrade. Clearly, Zoro is always willing to take on stronger blades with him. Right now, Zoro's blades are quite powerful, but there is one exception — Sandai Kitetsu.

When I was a kid, I thought to myself: man I would love to draw a manga with the most hyped final stage! I wonder if I'm up to it! Now, we have only a tiny bit of Wano arc left, the preparations are almost done. Took me 25 years lol. That said, it's fine if you start reading from this point on. Because from this point on...it'll be... The ONE PIECE!! The mysteries of this world, I'll be drawing all of them! It'll be super interesting! Fasten your seatbelt! And please stay with me for a bit longer! — Eiichiro Oda, Author of One Piece, 2022

Some fans might know it already, but Sandai Kitetsu is Zoro's weakest blade. It is a Wazamono Grade sword, which puts it below both Emma and Wado Ichimonji. It is this blade that Zoro must replace.

Zoro Will Get Nidai Kitetsu In The Future

Nidai Kitetsu Was Crafted By Kozuki Sukiyaki

One thing that's certain is that Zoro needs to hold on to a Kitetsu blade. This is because, eventually, Zoro will have to fight against Nusjuro, and when that happens, he will have a Kitetsu clash with him. But, Sandai Kitetsu is way too weak in comparison. Instead, if Zoro has to have a Kitetsu battle with Nusjuro and upgrade his swords at the same time, then the most logical solution would be to use the Nidai Kitetsu.

Hey, Luffy. I sense a strange presence from that blade. Can I have a look at it? — Zoro asks Luffy to hand over the Nidai Kitetsu

The Nidai Kitetsu was crafted by the former Shogun of Wano, Kozuki Sukiyaki, Oden's father. It is his finest creation and certainly a very powerful sword. Zoro will eventually have to take it or it'll go to waste, and it is highly unlikely that Oda will allow that to happen.

In order for Zoro to get the Nidai Kitetsu, the Sandai Kitetsu must break. This could very well happen in Elbaf, or perhaps in the arc after. This would be a good way for Oda to have Zoro train harder. The only one who can give Zoro the Nidai Kitetsu is Sukiyaki, which means Zoro's last sword will come to him during the Final War, where he will most likely meet with the Wano Country samurai again. This will allow Zoro to get even stronger, and at the same time, give him the opportunity to blacken all the blades.

One Piece's next chapter will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on November 2. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.o
