One Piece is currently in the Elbaf arc, and the particular section of the arc that Oda is exploring is most certainly a very important one. Right now, the story is diving deeper and deeper into Loki's Flashback, which has, unsurprisingly, introduced fans to the legendary pirate they always wanted to see, Rocks D. Xebec.

As fans know, Rocks was a monstrously powerful fighter, and defeating him wasn't an easy task for even Roger. Now, Ods has revealed a strong connection between Rocks D. Xebec and yet another legendary pirate who is also Blackbeard's ancestor, and that's Davy Jones.

When Rocks D. Xebec was first shown to the fans in One Piece chapter 1154, fans could immediately tell that there was a strong connection between him and Blackbeard. This was quite clear to see from his face alone, but for those who would just end up being confused, Oda dropped the title box of Rocks, where it clearly said that he was Rocks's very own son. Even before this was officially confirmed, fans suspected Rocks to be Blackbeard's father. After all, Blackbeard's ship was named the Saber of Xebec, and he also holds the same dream as him.

One Piece chapter 1155 showed the fans what Rocks truly wanted, and it is the same thing that Teach wants as well. It sends that Teach really studied what Rocks did and what he wanted. Now, Blackbeard is aiming to gain all that for himself as the successor of Rocks.

When it comes to Rocks himself, fans know that he acted like a total villain to the World Government, and he even wanted to usurp Imu and become the King of the World. But, this ambition didn't stem without a reason. Rocks had one person to look up to, and that was Davy Jones. The fact that Davy Jones is actually a real pirate in the One Piece world from centuries ago means that Imu is well aware of his presence. Even Rocks mentioned it to Imu on purpose.
It's Time To Meet The Only One Piece Pirate That Can Beat Imu
Imu is powerful, and only one pirate can even stand up against them in One Piece.

Rocks is a descendant of Davy Jones. He carries the will of Davy Jones and that's most likely why he became the King of the Pirate Island, and also why he ended up being as dangerous as he was.
Davy Jones Is Blackbeard's Ancestor
Similarly to Rocks D. Xebec, Blackbeard is also a likely descendant of Davy Jones, which is obvious, since he's Rocks's son. It is highly likely that Imu is wary of Davy Jones as well, and now, Blackbeard will carry his will and cause all sorts of troubles in the modern era. It is only a matter of time before the Great War begins, but once it does, fans will see chaos brought about by Davy Jones’s descendants, as well as Nika, on a completely different level.
