Every big faction in One Piece is currently making a move, and the world is about to change in ways never seen before. The Marines, one of the Three Great Powers of One Piece, are currently deeply involved in major affairs as well, and they too will oversee some major changes, especially in their ranks, as a new Navy order is established come the end of the story.

While the One Piece Admirals have already been changed once over the timeskip, it will most definitely happen again. Akainu, the current Fleet Admiral, will be replaced by someone new. Meanwhile, the Three Admirals under him, Fujitora, Green Bull, and Kizaru, also have to go, making room for the new generation of righteous marines, such as Koby.

The Fleet Admiral is the highest authority within the Marines in One Piece. The previous Fleet Admiral before the timeskip was Sengoku, but over the timeskip, he retired, and in his place, Akainu rose to the position after defeating Kuzan on Punk Hazard.

While Akainu is in power, he won’t last long as Fleet Admiral. The Final Saga has already kickstarted, and Akainu definitely has a big role to play. Akainu will certainly have a big battle coming up against pirates or the Revolutionary Army. Either way, Akainu and his cruel brand of justice are not going to be welcome in the new world order that will be established after the Great War. Akainu will face retribution at the hands of someone like Luffy or Sabo as revenge for Ace and the other cruelties he has committed. With Akainu dead, a new, actually righteous Marine should take his place. While many think it could be Koby, Oda seems to have the spot of future Fleet Admiral reserved for Smoker.

Koby, Prince Grus, and Tashigi Could Become The Next Admirals

Akainu won’t be the only Marine Admiral to be replaced. The other three Admirals, Fujitora, Kizaru, and Green Bull, all have a ticking clock as well. It’s unlikely any of them will survive the final war, or at the very least, keep their Admiral position after the Final War. Instead, the new generation of Marines will take over and make sure the organization is actually doing actual good in the world. Besides Smoker, the only relevant Marines of the new generation are none other than Koby, Tashigi, and either Prince Grus or Helmeppo. While right now, none of them are strong enough for the position, they will definitely grow and get some great power-ups in the Final Saga of One Piece.

A New Marine Order Will Be Established In One Piece

With the Final War already brewing, fans are wondering if the Marines will even survive what’s coming ahead, or if the organization might be dissolved like the Shichibukai. The truth is, the Marines are definitely making it out of the Final Saga. The organization will be reshaped, but it won’t disappear. Even with big threats like Imu defeated, the One Piece world won’t be at peace forever, and small threats will always be looming over the common folk. The Marines will definitely be needed, and with new leadership, perhaps with charters like Dragon and Sabo in their ranks as well. Only then will they actually be able to do good.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on break next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
