Throughout the run of One Piece, few characters have had as drastic of a jump in power as Zoro. Although he was always a formidable combatant, his defeat at Mihawk's hands changed his entire journey and perspective, instilling within him the knowledge of how strong those on the Grand Line truly would be. This forced him to grow in power exponentially, to the point where he is now worth over one billion berries.

Starting his journey purely with his swordsmanship, he eventually learned and mastered Armament Haki. However, at the close of the Wano arc, Zoro awakened his Conqueror's Haki, marking him as one of the handful of people in One Piece who can use this mysterious power. However, he has barely scratched its surface, so let's see how he will fare once he fully awakens Advanced Conqueror's Haki.

What Is Advanced Conqueror's Haki, And Why Is It An Essential Power?

The Greatest Form Of Haki

Wano

Of all the 3 different Haki types, Conqueror's Haki is the only one that users are born with and can't be learned later on. Though the reasoning for this is vague, the most notable trait of those who can use it is 'Kingly Ambition', which is essentially defined as the disposition to stand above others and make a name for oneself in the world. It's so rare that only the top 1% of characters have the affinity to use this power.

In its most basic form, Conqueror's Haki allows the user to exert their will externally, which can be used to dominate those with weaker wills, which ends up either knocking them out or making them subservient. Once they train this power enough, they can use it with advanced applications that allow them to do much more, such as infusing their attacks and weapons, or even allowing them to negate someone else's Observation Haki.

How Zoro Will Become A Beast With Advanced Conqueror's Haki

An Even Greater Power

  • Zoro is a prodigious warrior.

Although Zoro is already incredibly powerful, his overall strength will be increased tenfold once he unlocks Advanced Conqueror's Haki. In Wano, he was confirmed to be a user of this power in its basic form, but since then, he hasn't really had the need to use it that much, which is why he was surprised when Scopper and Luffy revealed that he had Conqueror's Haki emanating off of him like crazy.

In fact, Zoro is such an exceptional fighter that, when he attacked Kaido with his destructive Asura technique, he unknowingly used Advanced Conqueror's Haki to coat his weapons, allowing him to inflict a scar onto Kaido that will never heal. When it comes to the Advanced Conqueror's Haki technique of infusion, it's not very different from Armament Haki in terms of application, since the user simply infuses themselves or their weapon with Conqueror's Haki in order to significantly augment the strength of their strikes. This is used in conjunction with Armament Haki.

If this doesn't work, it'll be my time to die!

Through these means, the Haki lets out an invisible force that allows them to damage their target without even needing to directly touch them, showing just how powerful this technique is. In his brief altercation with Kaido, Zoro was able to use one of the most advanced applications of this rare ability without even knowing about it, and then again in his battle against King. However, both interactions took everything he had as he was at death's door each time, showing that, although he has the power to use it, he's far from mastering Advanced Conqueror's Haki.

However, once this power becomes his for good, only a few characters could possibly stand up to him. Perhaps it's through these means that Zoro will see the mastery of his swords, specifically of Enma, which may even pave the road for it to become a Black Blade and a Supreme Grade Weapon as well, since it's likely prolonged infusion with Conqueror's Haki that allows this to happen in the first place.

Moreover, another advanced application of this power is Observation Killing, which has only ever been exhibited by Shanks. Essentially, the user's Conqueror's Haki and aura become so great that it negates the Observation Haki that others use on them, making their next move impossible to know, even for the strongest characters in the series. If this ends up being in the cards for Zoro, his strength and speed would be disastrous for anyone to face, especially if they don't know what's coming next.

Advanced Conqueror's Haki has, so far, proven to be the greatest power in all of One Piece, as even Joyboy was able to infuse a knot within Emet that remained just as potent after 800 years. Moreover, this legendary Conqueror's Haki proved to be so strong that it sent the Gorosei away from Egghead, and even made Imu tremble from a world away. Once Zoro masters this power to reach his prime, he will be one of One Piece's strongest characters.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
