The heroes of One-Punch Man range from the stupidly strong to extremely weak ones who don't really have the means to tackle even the weakest villains around. However, being a hero amounts to more than just fighting villains, with the simple act of saving innocents being more than enough to justify someone as a hero in the eyes of the general public.

At a glance, it can be easy to dismiss the C-Class heroes of this series as nothing more than fodder that's meant to flesh out the world. However, there are several heroes from the lowest class of One-Punch Man who are pretty competent and boast a decent level of strength, even if they're nowhere near powerful enough to take on the various villains in the series.

10 (Satoru) Mumen Rider

While Mumen Rider may be the No. 1 ranked C-Class hero, the problem with him is that his strength isn't the reason why his ranking is so high. Instead, it's more to do with his strong sense of justice that allows him to prevail in the face of adversity.

Even after being pounded into the ground by villains over and over again, Mumen Rider never stops trying to fight back. It's his headstrong nature that makes up for his lack of strength and helped to propel him to the No. 1 spot in the first place.

9 Gearsper

There are several espers in the series with varying degrees of psychic power. Gearsper is one of the lower-ranked heroes in this department, which is a shame given how much potential he really has.

He needs a special piece of headwear to amplify his psychic powers, but even this piece of equipment cracks if it becomes strained. Perhaps with a bit of training, Gearsper can end up being more effective as the series goes on.

8 Armored Chief Clerk

There is going to be a recurring pattern of lower-level heroes using equipment to bolster their attack and defense. A great example of this is the Armored Chief Clerk, who is one of the most hilarious heroes in One Piece Man.

Despite looking like a run-of-the-mill member of middle management, Armored Chief Clerk still tries to be a hero by using metallic limbs to augment his strength. However, his raw fighting power is still pitiful, making him chump-change for any high-level villain.

7 Red Muffler

Red Muffler in One-Punch Man

Red Muffler looks like a pretty enthusiastic superhero who definitely has great physical skills. His speed and strength are definitely above most other C-Class heroes too, making him one of the very strongest.

However, the mere fact that he hasn't won a single battle against anyone he's ever fought in the series is pretty embarrassing, even for a C-Class hero. Red Muffler will have to prove himself against a verifiable threat and win the battle to really stand out as one of the best heroes in this division.

6 Battery Man

The idea of using electrified punches in battle sounds pretty cool, but there are two things that users need to nail before employing this technique in a serious battle. The battery charges should be enough to last long fights and the hand-to-hand combat skills of a hero need to be quite supreme.

Despite having great equipment, it's his weaknesses in the other two departments that lead to Battery Man being a fairly unremarkable hero. Hopefully, his raw physical skills improve over time so he can finally move out of the C-Class rankings.

5 Food Battler Futoshi

Food Battler Futoshi in One-Punch Man

Food Battler Futoshi is a pretty unique and effective superhero, even if his hardiness and strength are short-lived during particularly challenging encounters. Whatever he eats turns into fat that fuels his body and lets him use this inverted metabolism to dish a ton of pain on his enemies.

However, Futoshi's fatness dwindles after taking a lot of punishment. If he turns into a skinny man, then there's no stopping any hero from turning him into mincemeat.

4 Funeral Suspenders

Funeral Suspenders in One-Punch Man

Despite his name coming from his suspenders, Funeral Suspenders doesn't really use this unique outfit to his advantage barring one tag-team move. He's a great hand-to-hand combatant who can take out most weak villains with ease.

However, the lack of any innate powers does make him something of a liability against higher-level villains. Thankfully, there's a way for him to cover up this weakness somewhat as well.

3 D-Pad

D-Pad's name is pretty simple and is inspired by the mask he wears. He also teams up regularly with Funeral Suspenders to take out any tough threats that happen to be standing in their way.

Their signature attack involved D-Pad grabbing his partner's suspenders and slamming him into any enemy that surrounds them. It's a great and simple move that shows just how efficient even weak superheroes can be if they pool their powers.

2 Tanktop Tiger

All the heroes who wear tank tops are both strong and goofy in their own way. Such is the case with Tanktop Tiger, who can prove to be quite a handful in combat despite being the weakest of all the Tanktop brothers.

However, that shouldn't take away from his unarmed skills, allowing him to beat down weaker enemies without breaking a sweat. Of course, he has his work cut out for him when dealing with tougher villains, but that's where his teammates come into the picture to lend a hand.

1 Monster Roper Shell

Arguably the strongest C-Class hero around is Monster Roper Shell. He understands his weaknesses and works around them to not sustain any unnecessary damage.

This leads to him using ropes to bind his enemies instead of taking them out. This is no mean feat, and Monster Roper Shell's mix of speed and strength allows him to pin down most low-level enemies with ease.
