2025 was quite an amazing year for anime releases. The year saw the beginning of brand new series, such as Takopi’s Original Sin, and the adaptation of the likes of Gachiakuta. 2025 also saw the return of many highly anticipated anime, some of which include Solo Leveling Season 2, The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, and My Hero Academia Season 8. It’s safe to say 2025 didn’t lack anything when it comes to exciting content, but of course, the year wasn’t perfect either.
'I'm Losing Motivation': Animator Working On One Punch Man Season 3 Highlights Production Issues
Things are not looking good for One Punch Man season 3. Animators voice their concerns.
In the midst of all the amazing releases, some terrible ones also made it through. While The Beginning After the End was, for a good while, 2025’s worst anime release, it has lost that title. Based on MAL ratings, One Punch Man Season 3 is officially the worst anime of 2025, and it might very well mark the end of the franchise as a whole.
One Punch Man Season 3 Is 2025’s Worst Anime
- The Lowest Rated 2025 Anime Overall
- Abysmal Production Due To Lack Of Support And Care For The Animation Staff
One Punch Man is one of the most popular and recognizable shonen series all around the world. The story follows the adventure of Saitama, who has definitely captured the attention of millions of fans over the years.
While One Punch Man used to be a sensation at one point, it has been lackluster since. Season 2 was a big disappointment, which is precisely why fans were eagerly waiting for its return with Season 3 to see what it would serve.
After a few years, One Punch Man finally made its return in 2025 with its third season. Sadly, the series already had a lot of red flags before it even began. Nevertheless, many fans were hoping to be proven wrong and prayed that the studio would deliver, at the very least, an average final product.
Unfortunately, One Punch Man season 3 has proven to be a disaster, and possibly 2025’s worst anime release. One Punch Man Season 3 has some of the worst animation seen this year. The season is filled with still shots and poor animation, something that fans were quick to point out. In one particular episode, Garou sliding down a hill as a still shot was one of the most egregious scenes.
Today Is A Very Sad Day For One Punch Man Fans
One Punch Man is not doing well at the moment, and there are several concerns about its third season.
The disaster, however, doesn’t stop there. A lot of the art in One Punch Man Season 3 is poorly drawn, and filled with mistakes. Proportions are sometimes off, and shots compared between the manga and anime showcase just how terrible this new season is looking. One of the worst mistakes fans have pointed out is the accidental gender bending of one of the characters, Royal Ripper.
To be clear, this isn't the fault of the animators or the staff working on it. These issues exist because they've been given an impossible job to adapt the anime in a very short timeframe and get a product out when they don't have enough time or resources to do so.
One Punch Man Season 3 Is Lower-Rated Than The Beginning After The End On MAL
Fans didn't like One Punch Man season 3 at all, and many have been voicing their concerns and showing their disdain through ratings. On MAL, one of the biggest anime rating platforms in the world, One Punch Man officially became the lowest-rated anime season of 2025, and it isn’t like it didn’t have competition for this title.
Indeed, in 2025, fans also saw the release of The Beginning After the End. For a while, TBATE was the lowest-rated anime of the year, with a score of 6.18 out of 10. One Punch Man Season 3 beat it out, with its lowly score of 4.69. With this score, One Punch Man becomes the #14233 highest rated series on the whole platform, which is definitely disgraceful for a series of its size.
One Punch Man Will Not Recover After Two Huge Flops
One Punch Man Season 3 might mark the end of the franchise. This is especially true as One Punch Man Season 3 comes after another disastrous season, which dropped back in 2019.
One Punch Man Season 2 was also a terrible adaptation, but many would actually say it was far better than One Punch Man Season 3. Despite all its issues, the previous season still has a rating of 7.53, for context.
Unless One Punch Man staff is given proper time to adapt the manga with actual resources instead of crippling them, it's unlikely the series will ever recover or reach even a fraction of what it did back in its first season in 2015. The second court of its third season is reportedly coming soon.
