Display Mode

Determines whether the entire screen will be used for the game, or only a portion of it. The borderless option chooses the former while allowing players to Alt-Tab out of the game smoothly.

Borderless

Aspect Ratio

Determines the ratio between the game's width and height. Choose either Automatic or your screen's native option.

Automatic / Native

Display Resolution

Determines the resolution of the game. Choose Native for the best visuals; anything lower will make the game extremely blurry.

Native

Framerate Cap

Applies a framerate cap when turned on. Available options are 30, 60, 120, or Off.

Personal Choice

V-Sync

Sync your framerate to your monitor’s refresh rate to prevent screen tearing. If you have a 144Hz or higher monitor, consider turning this on, as you may not reach those FPS levels anyway.

Personal Choice

Motion Blur

Applies a blur effect during camera movement. Enable it for smoother camera motion at lower FPS, or disable it for clearer visuals.

Personal Choice

Camera Shake

Tweaks the intensity of Camera Shake. Some players find the Camera Shake immersive, while others find it annoying. Turn it off if it's giving you a headache.

Changing the settings below will offer you the most significant framerate gains. They will also have the greatest impact on the game's visuals, so selecting the correct options is crucial. Additionally, some settings like Ray Tracing will have a massive impact on visuals but may not be worth the performance cost. Only use it if you have high-end cards like RTX 4080 Super or RTX 4090.

Additional Improvements for Black Myth: Wukong

Reduce Over Sharpening, Change FOV, and Other Essential Improvements

Black Myth: Wukong might be a visually impressive game, but it's not without its flaws. Several intrusive post-processing effects detract from the game's visual quality, including an overly aggressive sharpening filter, vignette effect, and more. Additionally, Wukong lacks an FOV slider, so if you're dissatisfied with the default setting, there's nothing you can do to adjust it.

Fortunately, a mod is available that addresses many of these issues, although it can only be applied to the PC version of the game. PS5 players, unfortunately, are stuck with the default settings.

First, download the WukongTweak mod created by Lyall from GitHub. Make sure to get the most updated version (currently 0.8.2 as of writing this guide). Follow the steps below to enhance your game's visual clarity:

  1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
  2. Open the WukongTweak.ini file located in Downloads\WukongTweak_v0.8.2\b1\Binaries\Win64.
  3. Make the following changes:
    1. Adjust the AdditionalFOV value to change the FOV in the game (range is -80 to 80, with a default of 0).
    2. Set Enabled = false under the Vignette section.
    3. Ensure the Chromatic Aberration section is set to false.
    4. Verify that Strength in the Adjust Sharpening section is set to 1 (or adjust it according to your preference).
  4. Save and close the WukongTweak.ini file.
  5. Copy the b1 folder from inside WukongTweak_v0.8.2.
  6. Paste the b1 folder into the root of the game directory.

That’s it! Now, open the game as usual, and all the changes will be applied. Your game should look much clearer with the reduced sharpening effect, and post-processing effects like Chromatic Aberration and Vignette disabled.
