Among the many announcements made by Yen Press today, one will please Oshi no Ko fans: a novel from the series will be published in English! Many fans who have watched the anime on Hidive will be able to read this new adventure!

The original manga concluded last year, sparking some controversy among fans. It was serialized in Young Jump – Shueisha's largest magazine aimed at seinen (young men) audiences, though the readership might be more diverse than simply "young men".

Oshi no Ko fans will have to wait for quite some time to watch the next season of their favorite anime.

Yen Press will officially publish [Oshi No Ko] Spica of the First Star, the first novel of the series, in English. Unfortunately, they haven't announced a release window for the book.

Original Edition Includes Short Story by Original Author

Spice of the First Star was published in Japan in November 2023, and it is written by Hajime Tanaka. It also features the short story Viewpoint B, written by Aka Akasaka himself.

The story begins when Ai Hoshino tells her agency that she wants to quit being an idol, not long after she joined B-Komachi. But the pressure and conflicts behind the scenes are too much for her, and she can't take the burden.

Viewpoint B was originally given as a bonus for those who watched the pre-screening sessions of the first episode of the anime in Japan. It follows an unnammed member of B-Komachi. There is an audiobook version available in Japanese on the official website of the series, narrated by Rie Takahashi (Ai's voice actress in Japan):

A second novel, Futari no Etude, was released in Japan in December, and a third novel has been announced (this one will expand the manga's finale).

Oshi no Ko Season 3 News

The third season is scheduled to debut in 2026 – further information should be announced in AnimeJapan in March 2025. Fans in Japan are currently able to attend a special exhibition celebrating the anime.

Oshi no Ko Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Hidive. A live-action adaptation is on Prime Video.
