For the fans of the series who also keep up with the manga, there is finally some good news. The manga is officially resuming its publication.

Ousama Ranking Returns from Hiatus

Ousama Ranking, better known in English as Ranking of Kings, was a huge success when its anime was ongoing a few years ago. Its story, with some beautiful animation and art style, had fans hooked.

Sadly, for many fans of this series who decided to go over to the manga to continue the journey of Bojji, the series had gone on a hiatus. This hiatus lasted about two whole years, or 21 months, to be specific.

Finally, Ousama Ranking is going to continue serialization in 2025. Ousama Ranking Chapter 232 was released by the mangaka this Tuesday, and he has dropped a few more chapters since.

The Long Hiatus The Manga Went Through

The Ranking of Kings manga went through quite a hiatus as previously mentioned. This all started back in April of 2023.

The reason for this previous indefinite hiatus is not known. But it could be related to some health issues the mangaka Sōsuke Tōka could be going through.

Will Ranking Of Kings Get New Anime Content?

So far, Ranking of Kings has not had any new anime announced for it, which is very unfortunate, seeing how popular it was during its anime run. Its season 1 ran for a strong 24 episodes, and the series even got new content, being a 10-episode-long anime titled Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage. This, however, doesn’t exactly count as Season 2, as it was more of a mini-series to fill in some gaps.

A year ago, an Ousama Ranking movie was indeed announced. That said, there haven't been any updates provided on it yet, which leaves fans wondering what the franchise has in store for them. At the very least, fans can always go on to continue with the manga.
