The Outer Worlds 2 is a game filled with choices that influence the events of the game, the state of the world, and the way that you progress through main story missions. One of the earliest impactful choices is whether to trust Kaur or Milverstreet in Fairfield.
All Science Adventures Quarterly Locations in Outer Worlds 2
To complete In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda, Outer Worlds 2 players must locate all ten copies of Science Adventures Quarterly in Paradise.
Kaur is a militaristic member of Auntie's Choice who wants to crush the Protectorate under her heel, while Milverstreet is more subversive and seeks to convert Protectorate members to Auntie's Choice's side. When it comes to who you should work with in the choice between Kaur vs. Milverstreet, Outer Worlds 2 players have a few things to consider.
What Happens If You Side With Kaur?
If you decide to side with Kaur, Outer Worlds 2 players will start the mission 'Above and Beyond Repair'. This tasks you to sabotage the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, to the far southeast of Paradise Island. Here, you will find the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus – a Gadget that grants you a temporary shield against status effects and damage.
After you return to Kaur, she will give you the 'Ascent in the Howling Tower' mission, which requires you to go to the Skycutter power plant on the northwest coast of the southern island of Paradise. Go here, complete this dungeon-like instanced zone, then send a shockwave to the Vox Relay to destroy much of their technical infrastructure.
If you choose to trust Kaur, you will be directed to the location of the shield Gadget, and you'll get the Kaur's Kuirass body armor and the Kaur's Korroder gun. This gun deals Corrosive damage and spreads Infection amongst enemies.
What Happens If You Side With Milverstreet?
If you decide to side with Minister Milverstreet, Outer Worlds 2 players will start the mission 'A Refreshing Bit of News'. This tasks you to to gather intel on the Protectorate's Mind Refreshment methods from the nearby Ministry of Accuracy. Here you will meet Inez, the first recruitable companion in Outer Worlds 2.
Retrieve the information and return to Milverstreet, and he will give you the 'Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice' quest. To complete this mission, you must go to Westport, gain the Vigilant's trust, and convince him to abandon Westport and lead his people to Fairfield.
As you gain the trust of Vigilant Hogarth, then sabotage Westport to force him to leave, you will be able to get the Writ of Conscription – one of many ways to get into the Vox Relay in Outer Worlds 2.
If you choose Milverstreet, Outer Worlds 2 players will be able to earn the Topmost Coat body armor and the Limited Production Gentleperson's Oxonian Hat. This is the same hat that Milverstreet wears, and grants extra Crit Chance and Crit Damage.
So, Should You Side With Milverstreet or Kaur in Outer Worlds 2?
If you side with Kaur, you will be able to get a set of decent defensive body armor and an early Corrosion weapon, and you'll be directed to the location of the shield Gadget.
However, you'll also have to spend a long time traveling to the two major mission locations (the automech repair center and the Skycutter plant). The Skycutter area in particular can be tough at early levels, and is not recommended until you've gotten to around Level 6.
If you side with Milverstreet, you'll run into the first recruitable companion as part of the first mission at the nearby Ministry of Accuracy, and you'll gain a way to get into the Vox Relay by gaining the Vigilant's trust in Westport. It can take some time to gain his trust (then sabotage Westport in Milverstreet's second mission), the Writ of Conscription makes it well worth the effort.
If you don't choose one over the other for RP reasons, you should choose Milverstreet in Outer Worlds 2. His quest line leads you to both a companion and a way to get into the Vox Relay. Sure, Kaur's body armor and weapon are more useful than Milverstreet's rewards, but you can still get the shield Gadget if you choose to work with Milverstreet instead.
