Obsidian Entertainment appears to have stealth dropped a new update for The Outer Worlds today   that bumps the game's frame rate up to 60 FPS when played on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The news comes courtesy of several fans on Reddit and Twitter, who shared the news over social media.

The 1.0.7 update – which will take up 26 GB of space – seems to be in accordance with the release of The Outer Worlds next major DLC, Murder on Eridanos,  which will be dropping later this week. It will ensure players launching the new intergalactic tale are met with a better gameplay experience as they explore the additional content's setting and battle its various threats.

For those who aren't aware of the DLC, Murder on Eridanos  follows the death of a celebrity known as Halcyon Helen, seeing the crew of the Unreliable venture out to solve the case. It will feature new weapons, armor, perks, flaws, and an increase to the level cap, raising it to 36. Much like the previous Peril on Gorgon  add-on, it appears to be a significant new chunk of Outer Worlds  gameplay for players to enjoy.

The Outer Worlds  joins several recent titles that have upped their frame rate for the next-generation of Sony and Microsoft hardware, including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, God of War, Gears 5, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,  and UFC 4. Several major Bethesda titles will also be getting a frame rate boost today, with the current lineup boasting Skyrim: Special Edition, Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Fallout 4, Fallout 76,  and Prey.

The Outer Worlds  is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
