The New Horizon update has been a game-changer for Outriders. According to Steam analytics, this led to a huge increase in Outriders’ player count, and it stands to reason that it has across all platforms too. This is because New Horizon was so geared at giving Outriders fans exactly what they wanted, which in turn invited new players as well.

In Outriders New Horizon, People Can Fly removed the time limit on endgame Expeditions, allowing fans to really dig into their builds instead of relying on sheer DPS. The company also added brand new expeditions, a brand new Transmog feature, and tons more. Needless to say, New Horizon has been well received by the community, but there’s been one major request bubbling since then.

Specifically, many fans have been calling for a way to lock and manage loadouts for their Outriders characters. Given all the gear and loot players may snatch up and hold onto, plus the versatility of swapping in-game, it makes sense for Outriders players to want this, and People Can Fly is aware of these requests.

The Best War Games recently spoke with People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski about the company’s North American studios but was also able to ask a few questions regarding the New Horizon update. On loadouts, Wojciechowski stated the following:

We are aware of the fan requests regarding loadouts. However, at the moment we are not able to disclose if any new systems or solutions will be added to Outriders in the future. Only thing we can say is that the work on the Outriders experience continues.

It makes sense that Wojciechowski couldn’t dive into it more, as the only real thing confirmed for Outriders right now is the upcoming Worldslayer expansion, which is set to be revealed in Spring 2022. It is nice to know that work on Outriders continues, and it’ll be interesting to see what form that takes as time marches on.

It’s also good to know that People Can Fly listens. In the past, there have been games, developers, and companies accused of not listening to its fanbase, but New Horizon is proof that People Can Fly took player feedback to heart. The company is still collecting feedback after New Horizon, as Wojciechowski himself said, “We always appreciate every piece of feedback very much, because in the lead-up to New Horizon, [PCF has] spent thousands of work hours” making these changes to Outriders.

With Wordslayer being the next horizon for Outriders, it’ll be interesting to see what all People Can Fly has planned, but for now, all fans can do is wait and see.

Outriders is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
