Overwatch 2 Season 14 introduces various new features, including the new tank hero Hazard and the 6v6 playtests. This is not to be confused with Overwatch Classic, which also consists of twelve players. The mode includes characters released in the sequel. This also encapsulates the Season 9 global health pool changes.

Though some have lamented that the new 6v6 mode lacks a ranked feature and competitive rulesets, it still has great potential. As Overwatch 2 continues its 6v6 playtests, with its role queue experiment slated to end on January 6, the event presents an exciting opportunity for trophy hunters. As a Quick Play game mode created by Blizzard, it can be farmed for missing achievements.

Overwatch 2 Just Gave Achievement Hunters The Perfect Opportunity

Notoriously Difficult Achievements in 5v5 May Be Attainable in 6v6

Players acquire achievements in the hero-shooter by completing challenges or reaching specific milestones. These extend to in-game events and specific characters. Notably, there are several difficult Overwatch 2 achievements, and the shift from 6v6 to 5v5 in 2022 likely didn't help challenges that involve earning multi-kills and dealing a certain amount of damage in a match.

Fortunately, with the return of 6v6, trophy hunters might find it easier to secure the ones they’re missing. Players can obtain achievements in either ranked or unranked, and the 6v6 playtests count toward this progress. It's worth noting that if users interested in 6v6 cannot earn the awards before January 6, they will have another chance during the Min 1, Max 3 6v6 playtest starting on January 7.

The Best Achievements To Farm in Overwatch 2's 6v6 Tests

The list of achievements is extensive, with 26 for tanks, 36 for DPS, 22 for supports. Not including map-specific trophies, events, and general awards, Overwatch 2 currently has around 170 achievements. Though missing achievements will vary from player to player, there are notoriously challenging ones that tend to have lower completion rates. For instance, Doomfist's Cratered milestone asks players to hit four enemies within a single strike. As of 2017, only 0.06% of players had unlocked it; by 2023, that number grew to 0.15%. The achievement has been adjusted for 5v5, as it once required players to hit six enemies at once. As such, in the 6v6 playtests, it could be worth striving for.

Zenyatta's Rapid Discord is another notable achievement worth looking into in 6v6. Requiring users to get 4 kills or assists with Orb of Discord within 6 seconds in Quick or Competitive Play, this particular trophy has been the talk of the achievement collecting community for years. Experienced Zenyatta players emphasize that earning it requires not only skill but also a fair amount of luck.

Zarya players may also benefit from the increased team sizes. Her achievement, called The Power of Attraction, needs her to capture 4 players within a single use of the Graviton Surge ultimate. Doing so will yield the Cute spray for the Russian tank, but it's not easy to cluster so many players together without help from a big team.

Moreover, despite Juno being a more recent addition to the Overwatch 2 roster, her Pulsars Inbound achievement has proven grueling for some collectors. While it does require a bit of luck, players must hit six targets with a single use of Juno's Pulsar Torpedoes. This includes both allies and enemies, so with proper coordination, she can line up her five teammates and only needs to hit one enemy to complete the challenge. Other variations are more than viable, and going for this particular trophy in a lobby of twelve players has potential.
