Overwatch 2 has had plenty of exciting events over the last few years, but the Street Fighter collab, which was first announced back in EVO, might just be one of the best yet. This update brings eight new skins to the game, which are all references to legendary icons from Capcom's immensely popular Street Fighter series. Rather than just being simple recolors, these skins completely overhaul most of the characters' appearance and aesthetic, to the point where many of them look more or less identical to the source material.
9 Hardest Street Fighter Games Ranked
These street fighter games are some of the franchise's most difficult titles to play.
While all of them are well worth checking out, especially for longtime Street Fighter fans, there are definitely a few that stand out a little more than others for their visual flair and vibrancy. Now that the skins are officially released, it's time to take a look at these new fighter outfits for Overwatch 2 to see how they stack up to one another from a visual perspective.
8 Winston as Blanka
A Futuristic Rendition Of Everyone's Favorite Jungle-Dwelling Fighter
While it makes total sense why Winston would be the one to receive the Blanka skin, Blizzard has taken some creative liberties with this outfit to make it a little more futuristic and unique. For example, while Winston gains green skin and orange hair, making him pop out from the screen anytime he shows up to wreak havoc, he's also padded out with a kit of heavy armor to protect him from enemy gunfire.
Additionally, Winston keeps his iconic glasses, which have become synonymous with the character. All in all, this skin feels a little bit like a light cosplay rather than a full transformation, but it still does just enough to become a worthy addition to Winston's wardrobe.
7 Soldier 76 as Guile
Guile's Absurd Hairstyle Somehow Suits Soldier 76 Surprisingly Well
Soldier 76's outfits can often be a little basic or plain, but this one, inspired by Guile, helps bring out the hero's goofier side, while still looking the part of a soldier. The most notable part of the outfit is undoubtedly Guile's giant blonde hair, which somehow doesn't look all that out of place on Soldier.
Overwatch 2: Best Support Stadium Builds
If you're jumping into Overwatch Stadium in the Support role, this small collection of some of the best builds will get you started.
The rest of the skin is essentially a mixture of Soldier's classic gear and Guile's army jacket, giving off a tough but also slightly cartoonish vibe as a result. Blizzard could maybe have gone a little further with this skin, such as including Guile's classic comb in his hair, for example, but it's nonetheless one that Soldier 76 fans will still find a lot to love about.
6 Zenyatta as Dhalsim
The Most Human That Zenyatta Has Ever Looked
Considering Zenyatta is a robot, it means that the designers can get pretty creative with the costumes that he receives, but it's clear that Blizzard went above and beyond with this brand-new Dhalsim-inspired skin. In keeping with the yoga masters' traditional look, Zenyatta gains a few red markings across his body alongside a collection of large bracelets hanging off his wrist.
What really makes the skin stand out, however, is how it gives Zenyatta a human-like appearance, which almost comes across as a little creepy. Despite that, the skin still looks fantastic and is one of the more eye-catching outfits Zenyatta has gotten in the last few seasons.
5 Hanzo as Ryu
Ryu May Prefer Using His Fists, But Making Him An Archer Is A Pretty Fun Idea
Though Ken was unfortunately a no-show for this collaboration event, the face of Street Fighter, Ryu, still managed to make it in, with his skin being equipped by none other than Hanzo. This is actually quite an interesting outfit as it combines elements from Ryu's older appearances as well as his Street Fighter 6 design. For example, while he looks a lot more mature and has a beard like he does in the sixth game, he is also wearing a gi, which is more reminiscent of Street Fighter 1 and 2.
While it can initially look a little bit jarring to see Ryu wielding a massive bow and arrow, it's still a pretty badass sight to behold: a classic outfit for one of the most popular DPS heroes in all of Overwatch.
4 Widowmaker as Cammy
Widow Looks Like She's Ready To Spiral Arrow Anyone Who Looks At Her The Wrong Way
Widowmaker players will be able to step onto the battlefield as the lightning-fast and lethal special agent Cammy. Clearly, Blizzard paid a lot of attention to making this skin as close to Cammy's classic outfit as possible, with everything from the long-flowing golden hair to the red beret being small and subtle love letters to her earlier appearances in the series.
Overwatch 2: 10 Best Support Perks, Ranked
From damage boosts to better crowd control, Overwatch 2’s best support perks offer game-changing new playstyles for all players.
With that being said, there are still some neat editions which remind players that this is still the widowmaker they know and love, such as the visor on her hat, which helps to keep her aim steady from afar. Blizzard knocked it out of the park with this alternative outfit, and there's no doubt that Widowmaker players will be using it a lot in-game.
3 Sigma as M. Bison
Sigma Can Pummel His Enemies Down To The Ground In Style
Even people who have never played Street Fighter before will be able to easily recognize M. Bison. The black and red military commander outfit has become one of the most recognizable pieces of iconography from the Street Fighter series, and now, Sigma players will be lucky enough to try it on for themselves in Overwatch 2. Sigma still retains his cheeky grin and voice lines, but pretty much everything else here has been revamped to give him an entirely new look.
While the general outfit itself is a real treat from a visual perspective, another small addition that helps to elevate this skin is the glowing eyes, which emphasize Sigma's extreme power and superiority over his enemies. It's also a nice touch to see Bison's iconic skull and wings symbol on the top of his hat, considering this is such an important part of his appearance as the leader of Shadaloo.
2 Juno as Chun-Li
Juno Receives An Entire Makeover, Turning Into The Legendary Chinese Kempo Master
It seems as though Blizzard is aiming to make Juno one of the new faces of Overwatch, considering how many skins she has gotten recently, but this Chun-Li variant is truly one of the most stunning of them all. Juno looks more or less identical to the classic kempo master in this outfit as she not only throws on Chun Li's iconic blue attire, but she even copies her hairstyle too, including the white buns that can always be seen resting on top of her head.
There have even been some small alterations made to Juno's face, such as her eye color being tweaked to be a bit lighter, in order to resemble Chun Li as closely as possible. There's also some glossy earrings thrown in for good measure. Simply put, it's a dazzling skin that every Juno main will want to get their hands on.
1 Kiriko as Juri
The Spiritual Healer Will Be The Star Of The Show When Throwing On This Flashy Skin
Ever since Juri first made her debut in Street Fighter 4, she's been a fan favorite, but it was really with her redesign in the sixth mainline game that her popularity reached a whole new level. This unique and devilish outfit was perfect for someone as dangerously unpredictable as Juri, and though Kiriko may be a lot more kind and considerate, it still manages to fit her like a glove.
Because the medley of colors used on this skin is entirely different from those that Kiriko usually wears, it allows her to look like a completely different character altogether. On the other hand, the addition of the spiked choker and edgy hairstyle also makes Kiriko a lot more intimidating, despite the fact that she is still a healer at the end of the day. There's an insane amount of attention to detail in this outfit, being the most visually stunning and eye-catching of the bunch.
