Summary
- Overwatch 2's new hero perks system can enhance gameplay techniques, like Ana's Biotic Bounce for unique trickshots.
- Hero perks serve as upgrade systems during matches, offering new functions to hero abilities based on progress.
- A new grenade trickshot clip showcases the potential for exploring new techniques with Overwatch 2's perks system.
The new perk system recently introduced to Overwatch 2 has given rise to various new gameplay techniques, and an extremely lucky clip demonstrates how one Ana perk can be used to pull off some awesome grenade trickshots with the character. Hero perks have been extremely popular among the Overwatch 2 community since they were introduced in the game's 15th season, and for good reason, too.
For fans who still haven't gotten a chance to jump into Overwatch 2 since Season 15 launched, hero perks essentially offer an upgrade system for heroes during the course of a match. Every hero in the game has four perks that are unique to them, which are split into two minor perks and two major perks. As players score kills and make progress in a match, they'll reach perk level two, where they can choose one of the two minor perks, and eventually perk level 3, where they can select their preferred major perk. Perk levels reset at the start of each game, or when players switch heroes. Perks generally add new functions to existing hero abilities, allowing Torbjorn to stick his turrets to walls, for instance, or even granting lifesteal to Genji's Dragonblade.
Overwatch 2’s Perks Could Be the Game’s Golden Goose
Overwatch 2 Season 15 recently introduced Perks, which are selectable passives players can equip, and they could greatly benefit the game long-term.
Not all of Overwatch 2's perks are equally popular, but Ana fans are generally very pleased with how the character's perks can enhance her play style. Some of her perks include the ability to critically hit foes with her rifle or even gain nanoboost herself when using her ultimate on an ally, but one popular clip demonstrates how she can even hit some surprising new grenade trickshots when using the Biotic Bounce perk, which allows her grenade to bounce and explode twice. A clip shared by the fan known as Plutoren demonstrates this, showing them tossing an extremely lucky grenade that bounces perfectly over a wall to hit two separate enemies.
This Ana Perk Allows Players to Experiment With New Techniques
Many players are already familiar with some long-distance grenade techniques in Overwatch 2, many of which are specifically practiced on some maps by top Ana players. Clips like this one have inspired many players to wonder how Ana's new grenade perk might allow for new kinds of long-distance grenade trickshots, and though it's not a reliably practical technique to use in-game, some Ana mains have expressed interest in practicing throws like these for themselves.
While Overwatch 2 has gone through tons of changes lately, Ana remains a reliable and extremely strong support choice. Perks have brought a significant and perhaps very necessary shake-up to Overwatch 2's typical gameplay, but they're not all that came with the game's 15th season. As usual, players can earn a ton of brand-new cosmetics from the season's battle pass, including the new mythic skin for Zenyatta, and the return of earnable loot boxes even allows players to collect a wide variety of past cosmetics completely for free.
