Overwatch 2 has officially released Midnight Sun, the new Mythic weapon skin for Ana. Featuring unique sounds, special effects, and animations, the second Mythic weapon skin in Overwatch 2 can be purchased with 80 Mythic Prisms earned from the Premium Battle Pass, or purchased individually for $40.
Mythic weapon skins are a new type of cosmetic Overwatch 2 introduced partway through Season 11. These cosmetics took the traditional weapon skins and added even more features, with special HUD elements, reactivity to gameplay, and even weapon flourishes. The Bound Demon Mythic weapon skin for Reinhardt – which just received some new UI effects in a recent Overwatch 2 update – was the first of its kind to arrive, though one for Ana was confirmed to be coming in Season 12 as well.
Now, the wait for this second Mythic weapon skin in Overwatch 2 is finally over. Midnight Sun is a new Mythic Weapon skin for Ana that players can purchase from the in-game store. This solar-themed weapon features unique UI elements for its scope and HUD, special sound effects, and a reactive element in which the weapon changes color based on whether Ana is healing allies or damaging enemies. Fans using this weapon also gain access to a special weapon flourish where Ana twirls her Sleep Dart gun, and an awesome kill animation where slain enemies are smote with a sword of sunlight.

Like its predecessor, Midnight Sun can be purchased in four tiers using Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2; the base weapon costs 50 Prisms, with three additional tiers available for 10 Prisms each. The entire weapon costs a total of 80 Mythic Prisms – the same cost as a Mythic hero skin, and the amount earned for completing the Premium Battle Pass – though it can also be purchased in its entirety for $40.
While its price tag is quite steep, fans who are all right with missing out on the mythic Anubis Reaper skin in Overwatch 2 can get it for 1000 Overwatch Coins – a $10 value – simply by completing the Battle Pass. That said, Ana players who opt not to get Midnight Sun with their Mythic Prisms in Season 12 can always save their currency from future Battle Passes, as the Midnight Sun weapon skin is presumably staying in the Mythic shop indefinitely.
