- Lead Rose skin for Ashe was received well by fans, but the bug makes it impossible to remove.
- Blizzard is aware of the Ashe weapon skin issue and is likely to deploy a fix in an upcoming patch.
Some fans of Overwatch 2 have encountered an issue affecting Ashe which prevents them from selecting the hero's default weapon skin in menus, forcing those who own the mythic Lead Rose weapon skin to keep it equipped. The Lead Rose weapon cosmetic for Ashe is a relatively recent addition to Overwatch 2, and while there are a variety of other weapon skins available for several of the game's heroes, it seems only Ashe is impacted by this particular issue.
While customizable mythic hero skins have been around since the beginning of Overwatch 2, unique weapon skins are still only a few seasons old, with Reinhardt receiving the first mythic weapon skin back in Season 11. Though players are capable of getting their hands on a limited range of legendary-quality weapon skins for some heroes too, mythic weapon skins have been released more consistently, with a new one dropping each season. Ashe's Lead Rose weapon skin is the most recent of these cosmetics, and was introduced during the game's previous Season 14.
Overwatch 2 Makes Big Change to Loot Box Drops
Overwatch 2 makes a massive change that adjusts when players will receive certain types of items while opening their new Loot Boxes.
The weapon skin has largely gone down well with fans, with the Lead Rose cosmetic giving Ashe's Viper rifle a gorgeous pink, red, and black overhaul. As much as Ashe fans love the cosmetic, though, some fans, such as mooo_mo on Reddit, have recently found that a bug prevents them from actually removing the weapon skin. This is likely a new issue arising with the release of Overwatch 2's latest season considering that quite a few players have run into this problem within the past week or so, but whatever the case, affected players have found the option to select Ashe's default weapon skin in the cosmetics menu to be missing. Luckily for such players, Blizzard has confirmed it's aware of the issue, and will likely deploy a fix in an upcoming patch.
Overwatch 2 Fans Likely Won't Have to Wait Long Until This Issue is Fixed
Several similar posts have appeared online lately to report the same issue, with some warning fans to be careful before equipping the Lead Rose weapon skin. Considering the vast amount of new content introduced with Season 15 of Overwatch 2, though, the season seems to be enjoying a remarkably smooth overall launch. The latest season finally added the long-awaited hero perks system, which drastically builds upon how players can interact with the game as well as their favorite heroes by offering creative upgrades to all kinds of abilities.
Though perhaps not as outlandish as some other bugs encountered in the past, some Overwatch 2 fans have pointed out a variety of minor issues since the season's release. In keeping with Blizzard's typically quick response to new issues arising from freshly-released content updates, the developer has already released a couple of patches to clean up some of the most immediate issues.
