Overwatch 2 has officially revealed the trailer for the Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration, confirming Aang, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Suki, and Appa skins for Zenyatta, Genji, Mei, Venture, Kiriko, and Orisa respectively. These incredible crossover skins and their accompanying in-game event will be available in Overwatch 2 from December 17 to 30.
During the reveal trailer for Season 14, Overwatch 2 teased a collaboration event with Avatar: The Last Airbender, the popular 2005 cartoon series featuring the elemental adventures of Aang. Though a handful of leaks circulated in the interim, little official information was available, save a December 17 start date, and skins for Aang and Toph, the latter of which was presumably the “really exciting” Venture skin teased back in Season 12.
Overwatch 2 Player Points Out Missed Opportunity With Avatar Skins
Overwatch 2 reveals collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and players are saddened by the missed opportunity to get a specific cosmetic.
Now, Overwatch 2 has officially revealed the skins coming in the Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration. The confirmation came in the form of a charming animated short featuring the six new skins – Aang Zenyatta, Appa Orisa, Katara Mei, Toph Venture, Suki Kiriko, and Zuko Genji – playing tag on the Nepal map. The trailer ends with Zuko Genji being tossed a cabbage in a reference to the unlucky Avatar: The Last Airbender merchant.
Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender Skins
- Mei as Katara – Earned via in-game event challenges
- Zenyatta as Aang
- Orisa as Appa
- Venture as Toph
- Genji as Zuko
- Kiriko as Suki
The Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender skins arrive on December 17 along with an in-game event. Fans will have until December 30 to complete event challenges to earn Avatar-themed sprays, voice lines, and player icons, as well as the Katara Mei skin. The other five skins will ostensibly be available in various Overwatch Coin bundles in the shop.
Since the event’s original reveal, there were two different leaks for this Overwatch 2 event: one that showed the in-game models for all the skins except for Katara Mei, and another that revealed her alongside the event’s key art. Now that Overwatch 2 has officially revealed the crossover, it seems these leaks were accurate.
Considering how popular Avatar: The Last Airbender is, it is no surprise fans are excited about this collaboration. While some players would have liked to see skins for other popular Avatar characters like Sokka or Azula, many are calling this one of the best crossovers in Overwatch 2 yet, due to the quality, quantity, and overall theme of the skins. It seems Overwatch 2 is setting a high bar with the Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover, so hopefully, future collaboration events can meet and exceed fan expectations.
