Overwatch 2 is a thrilling multiplayer game filled with action and amusement. Like every multiplayer shooter game, it is crucial to have clear communication with the team in Overwatch 2. Only then can players plan their strategies properly and advance in the game. The importance of communication in Overwatch 2 is explicit from the fact that the Voice Chat in the game is enabled by default.
The game allows players to voice chat seamlessly with their teammates. However, joining voice chat may not be obvious for those just getting started with Overwatch 2. Read the following guide to learn how to join voice chat in Overwatch 2.
How To Join Voice Chat In Overwatch 2
- Launch Overwatch 2.
- Navigate to the Main Multiplayer Menu on the game, and select the "Settings" option.
- Click on the "Sound" option therein.
- Locate the "Voice Chat" option in the sub-menu and click it.
- View all the available chat platforms.
- Make changes in the settings of Match Voice Chat, Team Voice Chat, and Group Voice Chat. In Match Voice Chat, players can talk to everyone in a custom game. The Team Voice Chat enables players to communicate with the entire team. The Group Voice Chat, on the other hand, is specified for the chat with the players prior to the game, where they can discuss their strategies and plans.
- Select "Auto Join" to join the voice chat without any invites. Players can pick any channel of their choice and select the option of joining it by default.
- Players must click the headset icon next to their desired channel to join it.
- The swap from Group into Team Voice Channel requires players to hover over to the Hero Select Menu and click the "Join Team Chat" button.
There's another option, i.e., Push to Talk on PC, where players have to set a key and press it every time they want to voice chat in the game. Just like that, players can put other players on mute too. Go to the Social Menu Channels and click on the headset icon next to the name of the player. This will do the deed.
That's it. If players have a hard time joining voice chat, it is possible that the audio hardware, including the headset or microphone, is faulty. Ensure that the default input device for the PC is the microphone. Furthermore, players must also double-check to make sure they are not muted.
Overwatch 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
