Summary

  • The second LE SSERAFIM crossover will debut in Overwatch 2 on March 18.
  • The event will include brand-new skins for Ashe, Illari, Mercy, Juno, and D.Va.
  • Fans are hoping that other past collaborations will reappear in the future.

Overwatch 2 has confirmed the heroes that are set to receive LE SSERAFIM crossover skins when the popular collab makes its return later in March. The first time Overwatch 2 and the popular K-pop group LE SSERAFIM crossed paths was in 2023 in a collaboration that brought new skins to D.Va, Sombra, Tracer, Brigitte, Kiriko, and even Junkrat, whose skin was a free reward for those who completed the event challenges.

Since the launch of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has cranked up the collaborations for its popular first-person hero shooter. 2024 was the biggest year of crossovers yet for Overwatch 2, which kicked off the year with the popular anime Cowboy Bebop. During the summer, Overwatch 2 held a collab with Transformers, bringing franchise icons like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron into the game as skins for Reinhardt, Bastion, and Ramattra, respectively. Overwatch 2 also added a set of Warcraft skins in September, helping celebrate the fellow Blizzard franchise's 30th anniversary. Wrapping up the year, Overwatch 2 did another anime collab with My Hero Academia in October, as well as one last hurrah with Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender in December.

Blizzard is now kicking off its 2025 slate of Overwatch 2 collabs with the return of LE SSERAFIM. In an interview with ComicBook, Overwatch 2's Aimee Dennett laid out the team's plans for the game's second LE SSERAFIM crossover event. Set to begin on March 18, the event will bring a total of ten new LE SSERAFIM skins to Overwatch 2. While five of them are re-colors of the original Overwatch 2 LE SSERAFIM collab skins, the other five are brand-new for Ashe, Illari, Mercy, and the game's latest support hero, Juno. D.Va will also join the crew with an all-new LE SSERAFIM skin.

Overwatch 2 Confirms New LE SSERAFIM Skins

When asked why D.Va is receiving her second full LE SSERAFIM skin, Dennett pointed out that the MEKA pilot is the only Korean hero in the game, and that it made sense for her to become the face of the partnership by receiving an all-new skin this time around. While this second LE SSERAFIM event won't see a new Fawksey James look for the grenade-slinging DPS hero Junkrat, Dennett confirmed that his original Fawksey skin will be made available once again when this second LE SSERAFIM wave goes live. Unfortunately, the original LE SSERAFIM collab's dedicated Concert Clash game mode that saw players battle over collecting VIP concert tickets won't make its return this time around.

Since this is the first time Overwatch 2 fans are seeing the return of a previous collab, questions are being raised about the potential return of some of the game's previous partnerships. "It's hard not to do another round. That said, we don't want to make any promises or get any hopes up," Dennett said. For now, Overwatch 2 fans can look forward to the return of LE SSERAFIM on March 18.
