An Overwatch 2 leak has recently teased an upcoming collaboration with one of Capcom’s most popular games of late, and the crossover is reportedly coming to Stadium. Overwatch 2’s Stadium game mode was introduced during Season 16, offering players the chance to play in two teams of five and upgrade their hero with various customizations while a match is in play.

Overwatch 2 was first launched in 2023, serving as both a sequel and replacement to Blizzard’s original 2016 hero shooter. Overwatch 2 released a new update for May, featuring ten adjusted characters and balance changes to Stadium Cash. The patch also welcomed the best-of-seven series in the new Stadium mode, allowing players to earn Stadium Cash for upgrades.

The leaked image encouraged the player base to keep battling in Stadium with Street Fighter 6’s exciting addition, teasing that players will also be able to wear a Dokiwatch Mythic Mercy Weapon Skin. Furthermore, the leak suggested the collaboration would serve as a mid-season event.

Stadium has been a real talking point within the shooter community of late, including the discussion of hero bans in Overwatch 2’s Stadium that may be implemented in the future. However, news of a possible Street Fighter 6 collaboration has grasped the fandom’s attention. Fans of Capcom’s fighting series quickly began submitting their requests, including one social media user who asked, “give me Bison Sigma and my life is yours,” and another who wanted to see a Dee Jay and Lucio mix. A third onlooker noted they would buy the game instantly if the devs released a Juri skin for Widow or Sombra. Unfortunately, other users accused the teased collaboration of being a “mid” reveal, but most leaped to the defense of both Overwatch 2 and Street Fighter 6.

Looking ahead at what’s next for the FPS’ popular mode, Overwatch 2 recently revealed a Stadium roadmap, unveiling new heroes and maps arriving between Seasons 17-19. A further three heroes will be added in Seasons 17 and 19, with more heroes scheduled to be introduced during their debut seasons. Additionally, the devs will also be adding Unranked Stadium, crossplay, and custom games.
