An Overwatch 2 fan recently shared one of the most clutch Lifeweaver rescues imaginable, pulling their Bastion from death at the last moment. This Overwatch 2 player utilizes Lifeweaver’s abilities to their full potential to turn the tide of battle in an incredibly impressive way.
Since his introduction during Overwatch 2 Season 4 in April 2023, Lifeweaver has grown into a staple support hero. With the ability to create terrain in the form of his Petal Platform and Tree of Life, and rescue players from across the map using Life Grip, Lifeweaver is a high-skill hero who can literally change where a fight takes place.
Overwatch 2 Players Point Out Neat Details About Reinhardt's Mythical Weapon Skin
Eagle-eyed Overwatch 2 players point out curious details about Reinhard's mythical weapon skin, the first in the history of Blizzard's shooter.
Recently, one Overwatch 2 fan showed just how amazing Lifeweaver is when his skills are used in perfect unison. Overwatch 2 player Bradleyman89 shared a clip of their Lifeweaver game on the Lijiang Tower Night Market map. They had just placed their Tree of Life near the control point when they noticed their Bastion flanking the team. They saw the enemy Overwatch 2 tank Reinhardt heading toward Bastion, so they used their Petal Platform to leap over the nearby wall. Then, tragedy struck as Reinhardt pushed Bastion off the edge. Bradleyman89 quickly used Rejuvenating Dash to race over the wall – and through Symmetra’s Photon Barrier – and then Life Gripped Bastion right before he went out of bounds, pulling him back up to continue the fight.
The Perfect Lifeweaver Rescue in Overwatch 2
This play could not have possibly gone any better. Lifeweaver’s Life Grip came off cooldown at the exact moment they passed through Symmetra’s ultimate, and Bastion was already in his Configuration: Assault when he came up, allowing him to decimate the enemy team. Between their excellent map awareness and perfect timing, it is no exaggeration to say Bradleyman89 is a veteran support player.
Needless to say, Bradleyman89’s fellow Overwatch 2 fans were impressed by their incredible play, with almost 3000 upvotes and 100 likes on the clip within the first few days since it was posted. Some shared stories of their own epic Lifeweaver plays, while others were shocked when they noticed Overwatch 2 didn’t register the Lifeweaver rescue as a save. According to Bradleyman89, the Bastion didn’t even thank them for the Life Grip until they pointed it out later – but luckily, Reddit was quick to shower them with praise in their teammate’s stead.
This isn’t the first time Lifeweaver’s Life Grip has been the catalyst for an amazing Overwatch 2 rescue, and it won’t be the last. Players will have to wait and see if Juno, Overwatch 2’s new high-mobility support hero, can pull off similarly-impressive plays when she releases in Season 12 on August 20.
