Overwatch 2 recently released a new Loverwatch dating sim featuring Cassidy, D.Va, Genji, Junker Queen, Juno, Lifeweaver, and Mauga – but unfortunately, it is currently only available in China. While the second Overwatch 2 dating sim could potentially go global some time in the future, it is currently unavailable elsewhere in the world.
During Valentine’s Day 2023, Overwatch 2 surprised fans with a small dating sim called Loverwatch. Featuring paths for Genji and Mercy, and guided by Cupid Hanzo, players could download and play this hilarious game for a short time during the event, and even unlock in-game cosmetics by doing so.
Overwatch 2 Releases Mid-Season 17 Content Update Patch Notes
Overwatch 2 rolls out a sizeable midseason update for Season 17, Powered Up, including limited-time events, balance adjustments, and map changes.
Now, Overwatch 2 has released a robust sequel to Loverwatch, though it is sadly not available globally at the moment. A limited-time Overwatch 2 event recently began in China featuring a new Loverwatch dating sim complete with original art of seven Overwatch 2 heroes: Genji, Juno, D.Va, Mauga, Lifeweaver, Junker Queen, and Cassidy. It even includes a trailer, which was shared by Overwatch Cavalry on Twitter, reminiscent of a classic romance anime opening.
New Overwatch 2 Loverwatch Dating Sim in China
Judging from the experiences of Chinese fan Libtan90, who is sharing their Loverwatch journey on Twitter, the myriad outfits worn by the characters in the game are sadly not obtainable as skins in Overwatch 2. That said, there are some new name cards that players can earn for completing character routes, and are seemingly given the chance to choose a free skin for the starring characters as well.
At present, only Chinese players can download this game, and there are no international translations available. There is no word on if or when this might change, but technically speaking, Overwatch 2 could surprise fans with a global release for Valentine’s Day 2026. That said, until Overwatch 2 makes an official statement on the matter, gamers should probably temper their expectations, as it could just as likely stay exclusive to China.

- Juno
- Lifeweaver

Wuyang, the Chinese watery support hero formerly codenamed “Aqua,” is arriving in Season 18 on August 26. However, Overwatch 2 players will be able to try out Wuyang from August 14 through August 18 during his trial period, meaning his kit and backstory will probably be released shortly before then. International fans may never get to play this new Loverwatch game, but at least they can look forward to the release of the second Chinese Overwatch 2 hero in the near future.
